Decisions - Regal/Zelos - NC17

May 31, 2007 01:09

Pairing: Regal/Zelos
Rating: NC-17
Notes: I have like NO grasp of Regal's character, obviously.
....Okay, no. I do. But I wrote this pretty much for myself and if you don't like the characterization then FUCK OFF because this pairing is hot and doesn't make me cry like that other pairing I really like. PWP like crazy and I don't care. :D ( Read more... )

Ohhhh, I read this once a while ago, and I could never find it again. I didn't think about looking on livejournal! I love this story, despite your overwhelmingly (s'good, tho!) dominating Regal. Actually, I find myself liking him quite a lot. Screw canon, OOC is good sometimes!

I admit to reading the other comments here, and I have a few things to say:

1. Don't worry, Kratos caught me by surprise, too. Dammit, I feel so damn guilty when I want some Kralloyd that's less oyako and more... goddamn it, I can't even say the word.

2. Krelos makes a nonsensical pairing, but it's one of the best damn ANTIpairings I've ever found. You know, stories where they hate each other and are forced to get along and play nice in front of Lloyd, but often result to petty insult-wars behind his back? It's lolzy. And I can see that turning into an almost-friendship, love/hate thing. But straight up Krelos makes no sense, I must agree.

3. Pink Power = win, though they are sadly lacking in seme!Zelos. Their art is phenomenal, though. I mean, they draw Lloyd as well as the game designers themselves... well, certainly in Eternal Embrace. But damn the censor bars. DX

4. Hell yes, Zelloyd is LOVE. And canon. And now I must write some... er, need to finish writing chapter nine, anyway. And Lloyd is DEFINITELY an uke.

5. This is awesome. It is made of awesome, and I want more. n_~

(WARNING: LONG REPLY, BECAUSE I TEND TO RAMBLE)

Heh. I like Kralloyd in really only two instances-

Lloyd falls for him before finding out about their relationship and either

A) someone intervenes (Zelos? x3) See http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3695907/2/A_Strange_Rivalry for my favorite example of exactly this.

B) He is emotionally torn up upon finding out, quite a bit of soul-searching ensues. x3

I have actually found the method for adding a healthy dose of seriousness to the fluff in the case of Zelloyd, but the fluff is pretty much unavoidable... which is... awkward, considering I have never (before Worth Waiting For) successfully written a fluffy story without needing to brush my teeth afterwards before it gave me cavities...

I dunno. If you're interested, I'm going to start posting chapters of Worth Waiting for at Symphonia Slash. Well, links to the chapters on fanfiction.net, anyway. x3 I refuse to ask people outright to read it, because if they want to, they WILL... on their own terms and own time. But it IS there. Or will be. n_~ If you DO find yourself reading it, don't let the first few chapters throw you off. There will be no character deaths, despite the trend that ALL OF MY PREVIOUS FANFICS HAVE SET. What can I say? I love a good tragedy... rather, I love the satisfaction of knowing that my work can elicit a strong, GENUINE emotional response from my readers, i.e. tears.

It's easier to get a genuine, powerful emotional reaction from an audience with sad stuff than with the happy, because it's MUCH harder to get "happy" to feel sincere. That's just how human emotions are. I can count the number of fics that brought HAPPY tears to my eyes on ONE HAND, I kid you not. It's hard to create the genuine sensation of happiness without it feeling forced or fake, and doing THAT requires much more skill in writing than creating a genuine response with tragedy. Anywho, I am quite capable of the latter, but WWF is a testing grounds for the former and seems to be succeeding.

No Krelos makes no sense. It never will. It is pretty, but... still crackish. Also, the fic I mentioned earlier (A Strange Rivalry, chapter 2 in particular = <3) is a VERY good example of why I love the Kratos/Zelos Anti!Pairing. With a healthy dose of Kralloyd. And much hilarity. Anywho, I'm rambling. I tend to do that n_n;

Heh, I can never see Lloyd being on top with ANY of the other characters (that includes females!!!!) EXCEPT Colette and Presea, but that's just because those two are as clueless as HE is. But I wouldn't really want to. The OVAs gave me a bit of a soft spot for the canon of Colloyd, but I still prefer the slash when it comes down to it. And anyone but Genis with Presea STILL feels like pedophilia, because DESPITE the fact that she has EXISTED for, like, 20 years, she has neither the physical nor emotional maturity OF that age, because the Cruxis zombie years don't count. She might as well have just been in stasis or "paused" for those extra years, yanno? But, again, I still prefer the slash. Augh! Rambling again... *BAD Jenna, BAD!*
XP

I really need to play TotA... Though, it's a good thing I don't mind spoilers, because the fan community has already spoiled all of the big ones for me... though, that just gives pairings like Asch/Luke an added kink... Kinda like Kralloyd, actually. But I found THAT little landmine through the game itself. But, hey, if I'm already going to hell (not! XD) for the slash-obsession, might as well have as much fun as possible, right? Well, that's my rationale for still reading Kralloyd.... XD

Also, I ALSO seem to suffer from the handicap that doesn't let me write PWP or the like without creating context for the situation, effectively eliminating the "WP." XD, the inability to write no-content stories is not a fault, I assure you. It just means your conscious and creative juices aren't beyond any hope of salvation from the metaphorical gutter!!! Plus, it makes the crackish stuff a bit more believable.

Okay, I think I'm finally done! ^_^; Sorry for the obscenely long reply!
