wow, getting online in this house has become a chore. that's alright. i slept pretty much all day. jet lag sucks and i lost 3 hours. But i'm home. Here's the update you've been waiting for. It's long so you might want to grab a snack. There will be a brief intermission so you can replenish your snack or drink supply, use the restroom, or stretch your legs.

I've been to Las Vegas more times than i can count on both my hands. This was the first time i could gamble. Ever heard of beginners luck? Well, i didn't have it. I lost every single time. Until my last hour in vegas, an hour that i actually wasn't supposed to be there anymore but our flight got delayed so i bummed 20 bucks off my father and played video poker at the airport. I won 130 bucks. I'm so rich. Anyways, moving on.

I was there 4 nights, saw 3 of the best shows in las vegas. I honestly think i saw the best show in vegas. And i can say that because i've seen every show worth seeing in vegas and also out of vegas. I've seen it all, nothing impresses me anymore, because it's all been done, it's all the same. But i can honestly say that i was not only impressed, i was mesmerized by some of the stuff i saw. The first night, i saw David Copperfield, who was just amazing. I've seen magic shows, way too many magic shows, to the point where i am so sick of seeing the same fucking tricks over and over again. I was actually not too excited about this show, didn't even want to see it. But it was amazing. If you are going to see a magic show in vegas, see him. He's incredible, and funny, and i have no idea how he did the things he did. Very clever and original. I'd actually see him again if the chance ever came up.

After Copperfield, i saw the blue man group. This one was actually my idea. i had heard alot of good things about them but i didn't really know what to expect. We had pretty crappy seats due to ordering the tickets from this idiot girl at caesars palace who had no clue what she was doing. But this show was by far the most amazing thing i have ever seen in my entire life. I'm not even kidding. If i could, i would have seen that show 10 more times before i left vegas. It was beautiful. The music, and the lights, and just their whole act was amazing. Trippy as hell. And they don't use dialogue at all, they have one of those little things where the words scroll by like businesses use to announce sales and shit. And they use that from time to time but not very much. Anyway they were hilarious without speaking a word and talented as hell. If you only see one show in your lifetime, this should be the show. They play the craziest instruments and actually make it sound amazing. I bought their cd but it doesn't do them justice. I was trying to tell people about it by describing the parts of it i liked the most and i found myself describing almost the entire show. It's not something that really can be described, it has to be seen. Needless to say, i was very pleased with this show and would definitely see it again.

The last show i saw was called "mama mia," a musical comedy about a girl who is getting married and wants her father to give her away but doesn't know who her father is. There are 3 potential fathers and she invites them all and is trying to figure out who it is. It's all set to the music of Abba. I thought this show was cute. Very nicely put together, the music was good, the acting was good, all in all it was a very good show. I might see it again, if someone asked me to.

But enough of me being a critic for now. Vegas is a beautiful city but i believe we have parted ways for a long time now. I have really no reason to return anytime soon (except for maybe to see the blue man group again). I'm a compulsive gambler and this isn't the first time i've seen my potential to be a gambling addict and lose everything i have (and don't have) in a casino. So it's probably best that i stay away. Especially considering how much money i have, which is none. Oh, another highlight of my trip, before i forget, there is this little free show at Caesars palace, about 15 minutes long, plays every hour or so for people walking by. Not highly entertaining but nice to see if you've never seen it before. I've seen it probably 50 times but we were just passing by it and it was going so we decided to stop and watch it anyway. Well just to lay out the scene first, there's 3 statues, one is the king and his two kids, a daughter and a son. The father is getting old and wants to announce the heir to his thrown but can't decide between his two children. The statues move and talk and such. Anyway, the son has a sword which lights on fire when he talks. As we're watching, we notice the fire doesn't stop when he stops talking as it usually does, we think nothing of it until we notice things start melting and falling off the statue. We stare at it for a few minutes, debating over whether or not the guys hand is supposed to be on fire. Then finally someone from security notices and they stop the show and have to put out the fire which takes awhile and also causes the fire alarms to go off. It was very entertaining, thus making me glad we stopped to watch. After this happened, I mentioned to my father that it would probably be a long time before that show happened again. As we were walking away, i heard some people asking if there was going to be another show later tonight, and the security guys said it would be awhile. People are idiots. When something like that happens, it isn't something you can fix in 5 minutes and get on with the show. The statue is ruined, obviously, and has to be fixed as well as the technology behind it has to be tweaked a bit so that does not happen again. Oy, the idiocy in this world is astounding. So that's pretty much what happened in vegas.

*you may now stop reading and take a short break. we shall resume this entry after a few blank lines. thank you*

To sum it up for those who didn't feel like reading all that and just skipped ahead to the end, i saw some shows, saw a fire caused by technological inadequacy, lost some money, and then won some money. Had a good time overall. Everyone go see Blue Man Group. They play other places than vegas. I know they play New York and i think one or two other places. I have no idea when but if it's anywhere near you, go see it.

Also i learned some things about my father that were shocking. But i think i love him more now than i did before, if that's possible. I find that my growing resentment for my mother is continuing to grow. Sometimes all it takes is her talking to me and i want to hit her, even when she's being nice. i feel guilty because she is usually being nice and doing wonderful mom things for me but i just feel completely negative emotions toward her. She says "i love you" and i just say "ok" anymore because i can't bring myself to tell her i love her. I make sure she doesn't hear me tell my dad i love him because i think that would be like a slap in the face since i won't say it to her. I'm a bad daughter.

On a positive note, i'm in a good mood right now. No headache. My father gave me two tramadols and i had three saved from vegas. That makes five and five makes me happy. I'm going to be awake for awhile so send me lots of messages people. Anybody miss me while i was gone?
