oh my gosh so much to reply to ;o; i hope i do my best to answer all your questions!
- the whole "in another world" scene was actually... hmm, addressed right after? is that the right word for it lol but kyungsoo says, "I don't think so.... Maybe we were destined to always be together but not"- he looks down at their intertwined fingers and swallows thickly -"together." which meant that, no matter who they are, where they are, what they are, they will always be together but apart ;_; /weeps/ that was actually one of my fave parts to write simply because it broke my heart
- i was definitely thinking about talking more about their past, but i felt like i always use the pattern of using flashbacks to tell the back story, so i wanted to try something new? ;o; does that make sense omg that, and i actually wanted to keep all the scenes (with the exception of the first and last, scene nine) in the present tense to show that everything is happening quickly in the present tense, a reality they can't escape (and the first and last scene, in past tense, show the moment they wish they could live in forever).
- jongin's story is definitely a whole new chapter in this! :) but i refused to delve into his because i wanted to make this story focused on kyungsoo ;o; kyungsoo's letters were kind of lost....... as in some made it and some didn't and it's not necessarily anyone's fault; it's just a shitty mail system LOL their friendship definitely wore away because five years is a long time, but at the same time a friendship as close as theirs can easily be picked back up. and jongin left because kyungsoo's parents decided he needed to focus on his royal studies and duties, so they asked jongin's parents to take him away. (cries i thought i actually hinted this in but if i didn't i need to go back T_T /sighs)
- ah i knew the whole "stay the night" scene (that's what i call it lol) would be questioned. there is definitely a thought process behind it on kyungsoo's side; i just didn't elaborate on it because i feel like his thoughts would be asdfghjslkls (a mess, basically lol) and hard to illustrate unless through actions. but in my opinion, it wasn't something... completely radical and insane? because kyungsoo knows he won't be caught (he's cautious about it, after all, and everyone knows they are best friends so they hopefully won't assume anything else) and knows it won't last. kyungsoo's decision to marry the princess makes him want to live while he still can, triggering his whole risque move lol
- yeah, jongin is definitely doing more of the pining visibly, but tbh i think they're equal on the whole feelings part :) kyungsoo, as a king, just knows how to bury his feelings better.
i actually have a whole explanation about this and maybe, because i wrote it while writing the story, i forgot to put in scenes i talked about? o.o" which makes me feel bad T_T but the explanation explains a lot about the story and some questions you asked :) if kristy allows me, i'll probably be posting it on my tumblr ^^
thank you so much for reading! :D i definitely liked your questions hehehehehe
omg i'm really sorry i took up so much of your time with my questions but srsly i'm so happy i got a reply from you :>
first of all, tragic otp is tragic. /sobs all over the floor/ it makes me feel like a horrible person because i get a strange, sick satisfaction from their tragic fates in fanfics. /why/
oh i get what you mean with the flashbacks. i guess (well it depends on how well this is executed) a flashback would've made the story less convincing... uh, less impactful i guess? lols i was totally deceived by the "i love you" scene at the beginning. I SRSLY THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A HAPPY ENDING /cries/ but i digress, imo a flashback or a short paragraph of the past wouldn't have justified all the feels :)))
lol jongin would make a great story though. so much angst. /cries/ lol @ the crappy mail system. i wonder if the person in charge got fired or something. =)) well that's really sad~ losing your best friend. it's even sadder that jongin's return was ill-timed. :/ IT'S JUST SO TRAGIC I CAN'T
i guess it would've been difficult to illustrate the rationale behind kyungsoo's decision considering the precarious situation that he's in. like, he's pressured into the role of kingship, with the jongin on-off thing, the threat of war and kyungsoo's just this adorable squishy pie and the crown is too freakin' big for an 18-year old. still, i consider sleeping with jongin a dick move on kyungsoo's part XD i mean lol, he just got hitched and he didn't even have the decency to tell jongin. /cries/ and i guess i feel sorry for the princess. i get the feeling it's going to be a loveless marriage~ ; A ;
lol kaisoo in reality, with jongjong pining after his hyung =)))
thanks for taking the time to answer my questions ^^ i look forward to your future fics =)))
no, no, it's okay! :D i actually really like long comments like that idk it shows the reader really liked it enough and thought about it to ask so much tbh ^^
- lol not gonna lie i like to write tragedies way more than i like to read them omg idk how readers do it like one broken heart is enough for me i'm not gonna keep reading tragic kaisoo u_u /is weak
- hmm i don't know if flashbacks would've made the story less convincing, but it would've broke up the flow i was going for :) LOL i'm sorry yeah the first scene was supposed to be ambiguous but i didn't mean for it to give off that happy ending feel ;A;
- jongin would definitely be such an interesting character to further talk about ;o; but idk if i ever would just because i kind of like the idea of leaving this story alone to let it soak lol does this make sense OTL
- LOL OMG SLEEPING WITH JONGIN WAS //SUCH// A DICK MOVE ON KYUNGSOO'S BEHALF TBH HE BECAME A SELFISH PIG OF SORTS AS KING LOL okay maybe not a selfish pig but he starts seeing things in a more "how can this benefit me" way omg but at the same time kyungsoo did have feelings for jongin (but still what a little dick LOL) and the fact that he didn't tell jongin about his engagement kind of shows his feelings because he didn't want to hurt jongin (lol nice job there ofc) and he wanted to let them live in their own sort of paradise while it lasted
- i feel like loveless marriages must happen a lot with arranged marriages /sighs so sad tbh
- kaisoo in reality makes me sad but hopeful but kind of sad LOL
thank you for your thought-provoking comment <3 :D
