(no subject)
I worked a little bit of overtime this week so I went in to work late this morning. It felt kind of luxurious to move a little more slowly this morning...I slept a few minutes later, let Lana shower first, cuddle with sweet kitties...very nice indeed.
While I was in the business of relaxing and moving slowly, I thought it would be a good time to RIP OUT MY KNITTING. Sonofabitch. It was really only about 2 1/2 inches, but my rows are 240 stitches across. All because of one stupid mistake. My pattern is SO easy but I didn't pay close enough attention and cross my cables a row too late, so I had an extra two rows, which throws off the cable repeats. It probably wouldn't have been that big a deal, and certainly wouldn't have been *that* noticeable...and I considered chalking it up to being a this-is-the-first-sweater-I-ever-knit mistake, but I didn't. Honestly? The ripping out and reknitting will be far easier than looking at that mistake for the next 5 years, always regretting that I didn't just fix it.
On the bright side, I finished up a really fun knitting project that I've had going for the last month or so... It turned out really nicely and I'm pretty stoked about it. I also started (for the fifth time) a pair of socks for Lana. I keep changing my mind about the pattern, but I finally found one we both love.
OMG! In exactly ONE month, I will be knitting WITH whirledpeas! And thatpatti!! And, hopefully, I'll get to meet rebasayre, kjames, and nikkiherself! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.
