Wanna see Coheed?

^ performing "Pearl of the Stars." Its only the first verse because I was on my second camera and I wanted to save memory (sucks because they played an oldie but a goodie--Welcome Home and I couldn't record it) but how amazing, right? The camera is a little shaky and this puff of hair kept getting in my face. You can't really tell either, but the camera is pointed downward. For almost the entire performance this GIGANTIC man was standing in front of me--mind you. I don't think he was a fan. Right next to him was this other man (not a kid) and the tall man happened to be his Dad. His mom was there, too -.- WTF???--and with him being 10ft tall and me being >.> half that (literally) I had to struggle a bit on my tiptoes (wearing FLATS, ugggh!).

For my first time ever seeing Coheed, though, it was an AMAZING experience. I cut it a little close. They had this wristband system where everyone with blue wristbands were guaranteed entry for the acoustic performance/reading of the book/and Q&A with the band while everyone with yellow only got to go for the signing. I got in anyway xD Thanks to getting there early because the took a few more people in...I'd guess maybe 20-30? And I was number 13.

I made a few friends on the line, too! They were hilarious. It made waiting 3-4 hours in the cold a lot of fun because we were all cracking jokes and >.> hating on everyone with the blue wristbands when we were initially told we could only go in for the signing (one guy was like "We should call the police and say that there's this terrorist group in front of Best Buy and they're all wearing BLUE WRISTBANDS!" and another: "If I don't get in for the performance I'm scaling this wall, grabbing Claudio by his hair and telling him 'play motherfucker, play!'" lol). It was just a blast being there with other Coheed fans (since none of my friends really like them like I do). Another fun part was that we kept documenting the wait. I've been trying to put some of the videos up but I've only got one compatible w/ twitvid and the rest are in ipod format (sucks because those are the ones I took in hd. They go up, just not with sound and those are the funnier ones. There's one where me and my cohort (this guy I hung out w/ for most of the performance) were plotting to take the tall man down xD and another one where I'm trying to see and just getting pissed. Before the camera goes off you see it circle around to the tall man and a few other people whose heads kept getting in the shot and hear me whispering "Fuck all of you." Still....MAD FUN night.

Another cool thing (and InuGrrrl said this. I've now seen it for myself) is that you DON'T feel like they're "up there" and you're down below. Coheed were sooooo nice when I went to get my cd signed. Like you could stand there talking to them (I spoke to Mic Todd. Was a little too nervous to say anything to Claudio except "thank you" and "could you sign right here?", lol) and they wouldn't mind. We couldn't take pictures w/ them, but all in all, worth it and now I'm REALLY excited for May!!)

*siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*

Today is gonna suck in comparison xD

EDIT: So there's livestream of the event (I promise the footage is better than my shaky camera) here:

By the way, if you see the guy in the mustard-yellow sweater...that was HIM. -.- And if you get to the 32:42 mark around the time they start playing, and the 41:05 next to the mustard-yellow giant is my hand w/ a camera (2 different ones at the different times). At the 37:46 (yeah, I looked for myself, lol. Was bored) if you look closely behind him, you can see me trying to look over his shoulder. NOTE THE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE -_____- By 43:37 he FINALLY let me get in front of him (never mind I asked him about a half hour ago if he could do that).
