Joel, we've had these conversations so many times. You have to chill out with the self-loathing in these kinds of situations, and get rid of that crazy timetable in your head.
- Unless you are one of those people that does hard physical work all day, you will not be able to "eat whatever you want" and acheive your (very aggressive) fitness goals. You may have been able to manage this in high school and college, when your metabolism was overclocked - but now as 30 looms, you've already had 3 major metabolism slowdowns, and you have to be careful with your diet.
- I'm super proud of you that you've worked out consistently for 6 months. That's huge, and you deserve a lot of praise for it. Keep it up!
- Check out the "Abs Diet" and their concept of the Powerfood. Being healthy is all about making healthy choices every time you eat, understanding that you need to cheat, and using your cheat meals knowingly and deliberately.
- Set goals for yourself that don't have to do with weight or percent body fat. Work to get your chest bigger, your arms bigger, your mile time faster, your pant size smaller, sprinting 3 flights of steps without losing your breath, etc...there's too much negative emotion attached with your conceptions of weight and fat, and it's detrimental to what you're trying to do.
Live healthy my friend...relax, work hard, play harder, and all will be well.
