some Criss/Colfer with Joey!
inspired by their trip to Vegas
sequel to In The Windy City
no worse than pg13
warning: some very mild spoilers for Starship

Darren checks into their hotel a few hours before the rest of the starkids get there. He smiles when the women tells him he has a suite that connects to "Mr. Richter's." She asks if he still wants a single king sized bed and a coffee maker in the room. He glances at the boy to his right and murmurs his consent.
With a "have a lovely weekend Mr. Criss, Mr. Colfer" they are off to the elevators.
Everyone else arrives and they disperse to their rooms with a plan to meet up for dinner. Joey bounces as he waits for the elevator, smiling to himself as he thinks of all the time he gets to spend with Darren. He passes his own door, going right for Darren's and is about to knock when he sees the "Please Do Not Disturb" around the door handle. He backs up slowly, head cocked in confusion and decides to go through his own room. After setting down his bag he opens the adjoining door only to be foiled by another door, locked.
"Darren, the only acceptable reason for this door being locked is if someone tied you up with red vines and I have to eat them to set you free!" He pounds on the door a few times make his point.
The door opens a crack, enough to show Darren's bright smile. "How would you get in here if i was tied up with red vines?"
"You forget that I'm a Starship Ranger," Joey replies, trying to push into Darren's room, "I can do anything!"
Darren instead pushes him backwards, sliding out the crack in the door and shutting it firmly behind him. "I, um, brought... I brought Chris with me. He's sleeping."
"Soulmate Chris?"
"Do you have to call him that?"
"Well, not to his face, but yeah, I do. So, you guys are together now! Wait, you didn't bring him to Vegas to elope did you?? Because that shit isn't legal. And as best man I would need to have a suit and I left my good one in A^2. I would be your best man, right?"
"Hi, Joey. No, we're not getting married." Chris says, walking into the room in sweatpants and a v-neck, still rubbing the sleep from his eyes, "Just... figuring things out," he finishes, arms sliding around Darren's waist.
"Hi, Chris! So um, everyone is meeting for dinner in an hour. I'm just going to shower." Joey slowly backs into the bathroom, convincing smile plastered to his face.

Brian! Joey texts, Darren brought Chris!

The next time Darren disappears into the bathroom Chris goes to talk to Joey. "Hey, I'm sorry for like crashing your boy weekend. It's just he came back from Chicago so sad and I finally got him to talk and then I just needed to get out of LA. Because Vegas is so grounding. Anyway, I brought you these," he pulls the largest package of red vines Joey has ever seen from behind his back, "Darren told me some story about how he apologizes to you with red vines and like doesn't have to say anything. But, if you'd rather I keep them and tie him up..."
"Chris, don't worry. We're all happy you're here. We saw him in Chicago. He seems better now. Just be kind. If you're not you'll have Dumbledore, Umbridge, Voldemort, The Starship Rangers, a bunch of dicks, and a really unhappy Ron Weasley after you. Oh, and a giant scorpion that enjoys human brains." By the end he can't help but grin, pulling Chris into a hug. He rummages around in his suitcase, pulling out a green pair of Starkid glasses, placing them on Chris' head, "Welcome to the family."
Chris turns to leave and Joey says, "I might take you up on that offer," and winks.
