Art and Charity. And IEYASSUUUU.
Last Thursday tenshiryuu combichristian crookedascent and I went to a charity art action for Japan earthquake relief at Meltdown Comics in Hollywood. The event was sponsored by We ♥ Japan and there were a few voice actors there doing signings and whatnot. There was also a nice art gallery, all the money made by the art auction was donated to earthquake and tsunami relief in Japan.
We had initially planned on volunteering to help run the raffle they had going on, but when we got there they ended up not needing any extra people.
Also, someone at LA Weekly took our photo, we were cosplaying Gakuen Basara.
There were a few VAs from Basara 3 there doing signings. Mitsunari, Ieyasu and Mouri's English VAs were there. We also ran into Motochika's VA who is a really nice guy. Candice had them all sign her copy of Basara 3 and it was awesome. Also Mouri's VA signed her one coin Mouri's hat.
And then this happened.
Troy Baker obliged us by doing his IEEEEEEEYAAAAAASUUUUUUUU scream at Ieyasu's VA. It was hilarious. And he was awesome for being into it.
Also, that's me saying 'yeah' when he asks if the camera is recording. I have a manly voice.
It was a pretty good time, and we all donated some money to help out.
I've been thinking about writing about what I've felt about the recent events in Japan but I just can't get my thoughts straight. There's this picture of Danielle and I on the hill of Aoba castle with all of Sendai spread out behind us, I've been thinking about it but I just can't bear to look at it.
