I haven't been posting as much this season about Supernatural, mostly because I feel like I'm swimming against the fannish tide to a certain extent -- I adore Castiel, and each week he's not put to better use adds to my disappointment. I think adding angels to the mix was a brilliant idea, but in my personal opinion, the execution of the plot arc has left a lot to be desired. Which leads me to last night:
Wow. What a way to waste a spectacular plot twist. We find out John Winchester fathered another son, and it's a one-off? Set him up, knock him down, rip out his entrails and burn the corpse? Seriously???
It left a bad taste in my mouth. Even Mr. Bone asked why they bothered, and I didn't have any answer. It's not like the Winchester boys needed more angst, you know?
What was the point?
