My basketball boyfriend got another double-double as Carolina squeaked out a one-point win over Georgia Tech last night.
I've never had a blood kink, but I do seem to have developed a serious, serious kink for a guy who can take a licking and keep on ticking.
By the end of the first half, Tyler Hansbrough had a vicious-looking scratch that went from the corner of his mouth all the way across his face to his steely jaw. About halfway through the second half, he got popped in the face and scraped across his nose and above his mouth and had to go out long enough to stop the bleeding.
In the last minute of the game, he took a hard elbow to the mouth and went down like a sack of cement. Once he made sure all his teeth were still in his mouth, he stood up. You could see the blood in his mouth -- he'd split his bottom lip on the inside. Did he go to the bench? Did he get a towel and wipe up? No. My basketball boyfriend tucked his tongue between his teeth and his lip to staunch the bleeding and kept playing.
