There was no easy way to tell her.
Jaina wanted to know who Amelia was, and if things went the way he wanted (when the kriff did that ever happen, though?), she wouldn't find out until he broke to the news to her about Jacen. It'd taken him hours in the library to work up the nerve to check out the complete Legacy of the Force series. No way in the nine Corellian hells did he let any Star Wars books stay in their apartment; he had never been a superstitious man, but it was still way too creepy.
He wasn't sure of his game plan. From what he remembered, Jaina had left the base before Invincible had been released. But she knew the path he was going down; she had her own fears about Jacen before even coming here.
