She'd met her son last night. It was weird...he was only a few years younger than she was and yet there he was, planning a war.
It didn't bode well for the hope that children would get a childhood one day.
And he'd been so angry. It worried her...in all of her time as working for the Emperor nothing had made her as angry as he was. Nothing yet at least. According to the books and to the internet, she would have been extremely angry about the Emperor's demise.
Maybe that's why Mara Jade didn't hate this place as much as others did...because it was her second chance. She could give herself time here.
She sighed and pulled her laptop to her, clicking on various things, looking at the plans that were set up. Her name, along with "Jedi Knight" and "assassin training" glared up at her. Now was probably not the time to feel inadequate about this sort of thing...but she worried she wasn't good enough. Wasn't quick enough or skilled enough to defeat these people. Wasn't sure she could defeat Vader.
Mara sighed again and reached for her cup of coffee. This place was fast becoming a lesson in hope...one thing Mara had never had much use for.
