who; Wes & Cal Janson, Shalla & Tasha Nelprin, Hobbie & Arik Klivian, uh, the Anakins maybe?
where; ice cream parlour (fuck you it's still in one piece)
what; ICE CREAM, GUYS.
Wes isn't sure what kind of crazy alternate futures exist out there, but there has to be a really weird one if he has a child in any of them.
A child with Inyri Forge,

"Uncle Wes, Uncle Wes, what should I get?"
Shalla's going to just sit over here with Cal. And pretend for a few seconds that she doesn't have a daughter.

Wes smiles at the girl, then taps the glass above the chocolate ice cream. "Get a tub -- three scoops, at least. As much sugar as possible. Chocolate, vanilla, anythin' else you like the look of."
Cal, meanwhile, grinned brightly at Shalla. "Hey."

Okay yeah she is.
She beams at Wes and starts rattling off flavors and toppings to the man behind the counter. He makes her stop and repeat herself several times so he can catch up. Eventually, he hands her a bowl on the verge of overflowing.
It takes both her hands to hold it.
Shalla glances at Cal and offers a distracted smile. "Hey kid."

But he also doesn't want to know what the kid's like with that much ice cream inside him.
He sighs and gets the same order again, plus two single cones for himself and Shalla.
"You," Cal says, wrinkling his nose as he stares at Shalla, "aren't old. My dad's not old here either. How come?"
Reply
"Because I'm never gonna be old," she responds to Cal. "And your father already is."

Wes puts the bowl down in front of Cal with a sigh, then points one ice cream cone at Shalla accusingly. "Stop being a bad influence on my weird future kid. No ice cream for you."
Reply
"Yeah, Wes. Don't be mean to me. My kid'll have to beat you up."

She looks like she's had better days, and it's only going to get WORSE, apparently as she notices Wes and Cal in the room as well. The only thing making it better is the fact Shalla is also here.
Inyri stops and stares at the child who is her son before distractedly eying the girls behind her. "Go pick out whatever you want."
Reply
"MOM!!!" Cal puts his spoon down and stands; he pushes his way past Shalla's chair to run towards Inyri and throw his arms around her in a hug. "Mom, Dad said you were here but he sounded like he was making it up and I wasn't sure and -- who are they?"
Reply
"Who are you?"
"... I think I'm starting to get confused," Shalla mutters to Wes.

And then Kamilla wedged herself between the two of them and Andy stepped closer and the calm feeling of being okay with being a mom (to all three of them) was gone. "Kamilla, stop it."
She gently moved Kamilla out of the way with a tug on the girl's arm, her other hand on Andy's shoulder. "Uhm. Cal, right? These are your...half-sisters. Kamilla and Andy."

AND HE DOESN'T WANT THESE ONES.
Wes silently hands Shalla her ice cream cone and takes a bite out of his own. Is he supposed to go up and help out or something? This is confusing.

Andy clings to her mother and looks up at her. "He shouldn't be here. Kamilla won't let him stay."
Tasha watches the confrontation before turning to Shalla. "I wanna help Cal, Mom."
"Not right now, darling."
Reply
She pulls her hands away and twists to look at Kamilla. "You are not going to do anything to him. Your father isn't here, for which I am so glad. You don't touch Cal, do you understand me?"
Then she looks at Andy, cupping the girl's face "None of us should be here. No one is doing anything to anyone." She takes Kamilla by the hand again, before brushing hair out of her face, forcing herself to look past the Zekka-like attitude coming from her. "Go pick out ice cream. Whatever you want."
She nudges them towards the counter before turning to look at Cal. Rubbing her eyes again, Inyri sighs at him. "They're your half-sisters here, so get used to it. I guess if you stay with Wes...with your father, you won't have to deal with them much."
Inyri pushes hair out of his face, getting a good look at him. "Gods, you look like Wes."
Reply
"I don't like them," he says stubbornly as he looks back at Inyri. "...does that mean they're staying with you? Why can't they stay with their dad?"
...perhaps this would be a good time for Wes to intervene. He stares sadly at his cone for a moment, then puts it down on a napkin, smiles reassuringly at Tasha, and moves to join Cal and Inyri with, "What, you don't like staying with me?"
Reply
The only reason she stops is because Andy pulls her away toward the ice cream, mumbling sorry for her sister's behavior to her mother as they pass.
