How inexplicably odd. Sections of the base seem to shift, appear, or vanish, entirely at random. There's no discernible pattern, so my map has to keep changing
( Read more... )
You programmed a map of the base? I never even thought to do that -- that's astral. Does it update automatically?
I've got a Digimon partner, too -- Terriermon -- but not from my world. She turned up here. I didn't find the -- um, digivice? Until a little while later.
Well, right now I'm updating it manually. In theory, however, I could rig up some sort of ultrasound device to feed into the computer and update when it detects a new room or an old one vanishing...
Would the sensor be accurate enough? The magic doesn't seem to interfere with any technology yet, but you'd need a pretty big device -- or a lot of little ones -- to detect all the changes. Oh! Maybe we could get some mouse droids, too, and program them to scout the base every day and check out any weird sensor readings.
Hmmm... a multitude of small sensors would probably be effective. I also like the idea of scout robots to keep it updated. Of course, this would require a lot more. We'd need some sort of network and a server to process all of the information...
I don't think any of the computers I've seen here are powerful enough to handle it all, even if we hooked several processors together. It might last a while, especially if we get a neural network going, but ... we should request something more advanced. I'd say from my world, but I'm not sure how the technology would integrate -- I could probably do it, but it'd take a little while, so we should try something like Captain Kirk's in the meantime.
Prodigious! We should get on that right away. Maybe we can rig the map up to a screen in one of the common areas, so people can see how the base is changing or something.
