So I've been saddled with three substitute days where I continue to fold paper with ridiculous precision so as not to annoy my so called superiors. Sadly, one of those days is at the school I abhorred last year. Mostly because I would stuff about 1000 tissue packages a shift and I could feel my brain drizzling out my ears. Anyhow, on the occasions where there was nothing to do, I would sit and study Japanese, or read a book or play my DS. Which was a big no-no for the school director, who thought that the appropriate way to pass 6 hours was to stare at a wall. I ignored her and played my DS in the back anyhow, and lo and behold when I walked in the first day of the new year there is a giant sign in the staff room:
DO NOT PLAY VIDEO GAMES.
When I politely bring up how absolutely retarded this rule is at a personnel meeting, I'm informed that not playing video games at work is "Japanese culture" and I need to respect that. So to respect Japanese culture, I need to respect stupidity.
In good news...my mini-kids class actually went well today! I'm not sure why I'm teaching 2 year olds but um, yeah, bring it on!!! Usually they just bawl their eyes out for half an hour or fall asleep but today they were, dare I say it, having fun. Even the kid obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine and "Top Ham Hat" who screams "bye-bye" at me for the whole thirty minutes of class.
I also met up with some friends for karaoke last night. The boys had gotten there before the girls, and when we walked in they were all singing "Hit me Baby One More Time". Ahahahaha. Also, the best song to sing at karaoke is Candyman by Aqua.
Lastly I found an English kids book at Costco called "We all Pass Gas", which informed me that the average fart contains 1/2 cup of gas. Good to know.
