and happier. Thanks to the Xanax.
I went to the dr last week, and told him all of my symptoms. He put me on samples of Lexapro to get me started (10mg), and gave me a script for xanax as backup for the massive anxiety i get.
OMG i have to tell you just how much i love this stuff.
I took the kids to Costco last week. I popped a whole xanax right before we left, so it started working right when we got there. Perfect timing.
Normally i would be yelling at the kids when they run around and do their normal silly kid stuff. (which, if i look at other kids, they are doing the same things and the parents are putting up with it). So, i can too, right? Well with the drugs, i was waaaay calm. I was a little too calm i think, but still, i way preferred it to being cranky the whole time.
The kids helped me push the cart, they ran around asking for samples, they helped me pick food out. They rode on the cart, or walked besides me. And for the most part, they were good kids. There was one incident where Tyler dropped his pants and pulled his penis out. I saw that, yelled and put him in time out. He has this terrible habit of taking his clothes off in public.
I can laugh at it now, but at the time i was not amused. :;sigh:: It has to be a boy thing. Or a 5 year old thing. Or, maybe just a Tyler thing.
We left the store and did other errands, and i was calm. Aaaah..... i love this stuff.
It's been a week since we moved in, and our house is finally starting to look like "home". We started hanging things on the walls, although we haven't done any real decorating yet. But, we plan to. I picked up an assortment of things at the Goodwill outlet this weekend, as well as some garage sales. I looooove that it's getting warm outside. Garage sales will be picking up. I can't wait! :)
I think the lexapro is starting to do it's job. The 10mg is a low enough dose that i don't feel too terrible about taking drugs, and i have the xanax as a backup if i need it. Which, lately, i've been using it. I'm taking a half pill at a time though, because the full pill is just too much. The Xanax makes me drowsy if i take too much, but the half is perfect. I took some today before we went hiking, and it helped a lot. I wasn't stressed about the kids falling off the side of the mountain (as much). I didn't correct them as often, and just let them do their thing. When i'm calm, they are happier, and calmer too. Ah, something to remember.
I can't believe how vocal Kat is though. She talks so well, and can describe exactly what she's doing and what she plans to do next. If i am lecturing or asking them to tell me what needs to be done, she's right there with an answer. Sometimes she even does it. (haha).
This morning though, i slept in, and woke up to a very messy house. I was not happy. I yelled at the kids, told them to get in their rooms and clean it up. I gave them magic erasers to scrub the crayon off the toy boxes, so they worked on that. Kat scrubbed happily, while Tyler whined and complained about it. I was getting really irritated so i took some meds, went downstairs and waited for the Xanax to kick in. I heard Kat upstairs cleaning. She kept telling Tyler what he needed to do. I was finally calming down, so i went to check on them. Kat had most of the room cleaned up. She did it all on her own. (i was amazed).
I told Kat that i would help her finish her room, since she did such a great job of cleaning like i asked her to do. Tyler ofcourse demanded that i help him also. I told him to start cleaning and then i would help. he did some of it, but mostly i cleaned. Cleaning is usually something that makes me irritated, but when i'm on xanax.... i'm calm, i'm happy, and i get organized.
I like this new me. Yes, this is the new and improved, drugged up Sarah, but at least i'm a happier Sarah.
Hooray. I'm loving this house and our life in it. :)
