What a lousy night for a ballgame. Rain, sleet, even a little snow. I'm glad I'm not there.
Making that ground crew work for it, though. They're earning their paychecks tonight - and doing a good job; the whole game, I never saw a play that looked affected by the field conditions.
Makes you wonder though - will it snow during the World Series? A distinct possibility. Would that be a first?
Wow - 3 double plays in as many innings. The Rockies' defense are really getting Fogg out of a lot of tough spots.
And absolutely taking the wind out of the Dbacks' sails. Yeah, Reynolds hits that long ball, but everyone else just looks defeated.
I like Clint Hurdle. He acts like he's having fun. And when you've won 20 of 21, you should be having fun. Still, a lot of managers - Tony LaRussa comes to mind - look like a vinegar bath is a regular part of their pre-game routine.
Torrealba - of all people. Biggest hit of the entire freaking series and it comes from the #8 guy, a guy who's bounced around the league and is usually a backup catcher. I love baseball.
And then the Rockies' bullpen retires 13 of the final 14, and that's the game.
Get out your brooms!
