HAHA. Spice Girls ego fest!

THE Spice Girls' comeback is being rocked by in-fighting and simmering jealousies.

Bosses are now so scared at least one of the stars will pull out of the tour they are only getting them together for essential events.

Aides say the girls are insisting the reunion is short-term one -because secretly they can't BEAR being together for long.

A close source said: "There are too many egos for them to last more than a tour together.

"On the outside the girls are pals and everything is fantastic.

"But behind the scenes the Spice Girls' wars have started again-and the egos have landed."

The source, a worker on the December/January tour, told how:

# POSH is sick of Geri grabbing the limelight;

# SCARY is winding up all the others up with her weird behaviour and lousy time-keeping;

# GINGER is trying to turn the reunion into a one-woman show;

# BABY is being accused by the others of not supporting them; and

# SPORTY wants to be by herself before interviews.

The source said: "Away from the cameras they are niggling away at each other and all vowing to be top dog. They had pledged to be calmer and collected but it is turning into an ego fest."

Scary Mel B was the first to infuriate the others with diva behaviour. She refused to meet them at a hotel on Wednesday night-just hours before the international tour was announced.

Instead she went to her Kensington home with her boyfriend, film producer Stephen Belafonte.

The next day Mel, 32, was 90 minutes late for the band meeting. That night she refused to stay at the hotel again. And on Friday, she was two hours late for interview work. Our source said: "It was as if she was giving a two-fingered salute to the others.

"She was also acting crazy, spouting all sorts of stuff, and desperate to show off.

"It was like, ‘Listen everyone, I'm the craziest person here.'"

Sporty Mel C, 33, was so fed-up with her she asked to be moved away from her side before the Press conference. The source said: "She needed to relax. Mel B was so over the top it was too much to bear."

Ginger Geri was the second to fuel tensions - at the first media function, a photocall. The insider said: "She ignored orders to walk out as a five-piece.

"She jumped out of her car and ran alone to greet fans. None of the others were happy. It was clear she wanted the limelight."

Geri, 34, also caused upset backstage when she mentioned Eddie Murphy, the absent father of Mel B's baby girl Angel.

The source revealed: "Geri saw Angel and said, ‘Doesn't she look her dad.' The whole room stopped and the girls looked terrified that Mel would explode."

At the Press conference it was Posh Victoria's turn to be angry, when she was dumped at the end of the table.

The insider said: "At one stage she didn't get a word in for ten minutes and she rolled her eyes. She looked put out.

"Posh and Mel C came away a bit bruised, as Mel B and Geri had stolen the thunder.

"Emma seemed happy to go along with everything, which meant the rest of them felt she wasn't supporting them!"

The only relief came when Mel C announced her quantity surveyor boyfriend Tom Starr had proposed to her, and Posh, 33, Baby, 31, Scary and Ginger hugged her backstage.

The source said "It was a big moment for her as it's normally the others giving her good news."

Last month News of the World revealed the fab five were re-forming for a tour. We showed pictures of Geri and Emma leaving a recording studio after laying down vocals for a new tune.

They plan to put the track on their greatest hits album, due to hit stores in November.
