This was delightfully enjoyable, and the balance of the comedy of the setting change and the seriousness of the character's emotions was skillfully. I loved the voices you gave to the characters, and Brutus thinking of Portia.

Heh--I used to write nothing but humor, so it's occasionally nice to step back into that mode. Glad you enjoyed it.

This is an absolutely inspired crossover! Of all the people to be having a conversation....

(Also LOL at this: "Ordinary man drowns his sorrows in a bottle of Macallan; Dickie needs to crash a fucking sports car --")

And the radio! Hee!

Great fun :-)

Inspired by elviaprose, who writes the winningest of winning prompts!

And. Heee, sports car.

I am so filled with love for this! Insane brilliance. Brutus and Hotspur are pitch perfect as characters, and the world you've created is sheer genius. I love the complex maneuverings of MI5 and MI6 and the Parliament and King Richard (with Aumerle pulling him out of a wrecked sports car!). I am deeply envious of this kind of talent. Thank you!

*laughs* Well, it was your prompt; I just had to find a hole shaped correctly for that particular peg. I'm glad that you liked my Brutus, though--I was so anxious about getting him right, because you're one of the preeminent Julius Caesar writers and I felt like I'd screw up if I played too much with your toys. ^__^ Thank you for reviewing!

I simply adore your writing style and your approach to the stories that you tell. I think it's wonderfully distinctive, and I really can't praise your writing enough. Thank you again for both fics!

And I've never been referred to as a preeminent anything before. That's ridiculously flattering.

P. S.

I love your description of Portia with her hair clipped up. So, so much. When you reveal yourself, Mystery Author, I'd love it if you would tell me if you meant that to be a Merchant of Venice joke.
