Book Review: THE SINGLE GIRL’S TO-DO LIST by Lindsey Kelk

Jul 04, 2013 00:48

Read good feedback from previous readers so I gave it a try. The author is, I think, British so the contents (language and terminologies) used are mostly British English. Words such as “slag”, “bloke”, “flat”, ”loo” and “cockweasle” will be most read as you go through. The story is about a “never-been-single” woman named Rachel. She was in a relationship for 7 years until his boyfriend dumped him. With the help of her 2 best friend, she made a Single Girl’s to-do list to make her forget how she was dumped by her ex and for her to enjoy being single since she hasn’t been for a long time. Now,
Why should you give this book a try?
  1. If you have been dumped or if your moving on and having hard time, this might give you ideas on how to handle such situation and having fun as well.
  2. It’s a good story.
  3. It’s slightly funny and quite inspiring.
  4. The turn of events was unpredictable. At some point I got confuse if who will be Rachel’s boyfriend by the end of the novel.
Why should you say PASS for reading this:
  1. It’s boring.
  2. The author included some unnecessary details of the story which could actually be omitted and will not affect the story.
  3. It lacks emotions.
  4. The plot was simple. I didn’t even realize I’m almost at the end of the book because the climax didn’t create much impact.
  5. I didn’t like the ending.
  6. The author should have given Rachel and Dan more romantic scenes (or how do you call that in a book, story?)
