My Dashboard Post

My favorite band is Dashboard Confessional . . . and as such, in my boredom, I have assembled my favorite line from every released song:

The Swiss Army Romance:

Screaming Infidelities: I'm missing your laugh, how did it break? And when did your eyes begin to look fake? I hope you're as happy as you’re pretending.

The Sharp Hint of New Tears: Your lack of shame comes naturally. I should not be surprised. I should have seen it sooner.

The Swiss Army Romance: It's cool to take these chances. It's cool to fake romances & grow up fast.

Turpentine Chaser: Now we're saying aloud the things we've declared in our silence.

A Plain Morning: And you wrote the words "I love you", and sprayed it with perfume. It's better than the fire is to heat this lonely room.

Age Six Racer: It is cold where you’re going I hope that your heart is always warm.

Again I Go Unnoticed: Please send me anything but signals that are mixed cause I can't read your rolling eyes.

Ender Will Save Us All: Maybe it's trite but I can always be wrong.

Shirts and Gloves: It seems our day keeps falling on a leap year.

Hold On: She had a history of killing herself, I had a habit of dying. I think she gave me something to live for, I guess I helped her pass her time

This is a Forgery: I was a razor and you were a straight line.

So Impossible EP:

For You to Notice: For you to want me, for you to need me, for you to notice, please, notice me.

So Impossible: I'm dying to know, do you do you like dreaming of things so impossible or only the practical or ever the wild or waiting through all your bad bad days just to end them with someone you care about, and do you like making out and long drives and brown eyes and guys that just don't quite fit in, yeah, do you like them? (Favorite lyrics of all time)

Remember to Breath: Remember to breathe, and everything will be okay.

Hands Down: My heart is yours to fill or burst, to break or bury, or wear as jewelry, which ever you prefer.

The Places You’ve Come to Fear the Most (Favorite Album):

The Brilliant Dance: And breathing is a foreign task and thinking's just too much to ask.

The Best Deceptions: Ignoring the phone, I'd rather say nothing. I'd rather you'd never heard my voice.

This Ruined Puzzle: This ruined puzzle is beige with the pieces all face down, so the placing goes slowly. The picture's of anything other than it's mean to be.

Saints and Sailors: So don't be a liar, don't say that "everything's working" when everything's broken.

The Good Fight: Does it comfort you to know you fought the good fight? Basking in your victory, hollow and alone.

The Standard Lines: Which of the bold faced lies will we use? I hope that you're happy, you really deserve it, this will be the best for us both in the end.

The Places You’ve Come to Fear the Most: And you can't fake it hard enough to please everyone or anyone at all.

This Bitter Pill: The bottle is waiting, the cap is twisted begging to be used, and so are you.

A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar:

Rapid Hope Loss: Well thanks for waiting this long to show yourself. Cause now that I can see you, I don't think you're worth a second glance.

As Lovers Go: I've gotta be honest, I've been waiting for you all my life.

Carry This Picture: Your smile is the most genuine thing that I’ve ever seen.

Bend and Not Break: I'm talented with reason. I cover all the angles. I can fail before I ever try.

The Ghost of a Good Thing: Just bend the pieces ‘till they fit, like they were made for it, but they weren’t meant for this.

Am I Missing: Is there anything worth waiting for, worth living for, worth dying for?

Morning Calls: Don't blink, everyone's watching. They'll think you're up to something. They need for you to be everything that they cannot be themselves.

Carve Your Heart Out Yourself: Man it takes a silly girl to lie about the dreams she has. Lord it takes a lonely one to wish that she had never dreamt at all.

So Beautiful: You've got them all convinced, but I know it so well that you could list your friends, but you can't count on them.

Hey Girl: Hey girl, you've got a fine laugh, and I think that I can get used to that. And you're already used to laughing at me.

If You Can't Leave It Be, Might As Well Make It Bleed: What you've found sure upsets you, never saw it coming did you? It’s easy to be surprised with both your eyes sewn closed.

Several Ways to Die Trying: We are, we are intriguing. We are, we are invisible . . . We are, we are, intriguing. We are, we are, desirable.

Dusk and Summer:

Don’t Wait: The sky glows, I see it shining when my eyes close. I hear your warnings but we both know I'm gonna look at it again.

Reason to Believe: I have reason to believe that I have victories to taste. I can feel them on my teeth, upon my lips and in my chest. I can roll them on my tongue; they are more subtle than defeat.

The Secret’s in the Telling: Until the last resilient hope is frozen deep inside my bones and this broken fate has claimed me and my memories for its own. Your name is pounding through my veins; can't you hear how it is sung? And I can taste you in my mouth before the words escape my lungs.

Stolen: We all look like we feel

Rooftops and Invitations: Where every move and each impulse brings clarity. To stay like this is everything you'll ever need.

So Long, So Long: How the girls could turn to ghosts before your eyes, and the very dreams that led to them are keeping them from dying.

Currents: And I watch as it pirouettes and spins in slow motion, a long drag becomes a slow dance and a halo of embers.

Slow Decay: It's the simple things dad, I'm not hurt, I'm not dead, I just should be.

Dusk and Summer: She told you bad things you wished you could change in the lazy summer. And she told you laughing down to her core, so she would not cry.

Heaven Here: We are still dreamers in our dead sleep, naked and tangled, twisted in love.

What do you think?
