A/N: I've been wanting to try writing in this prose-like style ever since I read Chasing Brooklyn by Lisa Schroeder. Amazing book. It's 1.05 am now, and well.. I hope you guys enjoy this short little thing :) I've not been very active on LJ recently and only saw the Secret Santa post just now. Hope I can participate in it next year though!!
It's the Eve of Christmas
I don't even know
What I really want
This Christmas.
Since the first time
I set my eyes
On the beautiful blonde woman
With the
super
magic
smile,
I can't help
But feel confused
With this new-found feeling
Of liking another girl.
She is the kind
Who will unwittingly attract
Those around
With her intense blue eyes
And perkiness
Of a five-year-old.
She makes me aware that
There's actually sunshine
And rainbows
And bright,
Happy things
I never once took notice of
In my life.
She is here too,
At the company's
Christmas party.
We lock gazes
A few times.
This time,
She smiles
The smile I love to catch
While the butterflies
In my stomach sets free.
I wonder
What she is thinking
As she starts heading
Towards my direction
Never breaking the eye contact
I love staring straight
Into those mirthful eyes
That seems promising
Of passion
Of joy
Of love.
Well,
Now I think I know.
