Their "go n00d 4 (animal product)" campaigns are hilarious, simply because they're exploiting people instead of animals. And PETA doesn't bust out animals... they hire people to do that... Such as "liberation" groups like the ALF. They're a group who can't get their facts straight. They like to say one thing do another.
The great thing about them is that what they "stand for" is the "abolition of animal exploitation." Essentially that is what veganism is, so they're supposed to support veganism, right? No. PETA does not fight for abolition, they fight for welfare. They fight so animals are treated better. The great part about that is that the animals are still being exploited... so is there any point to it?
Also, they love doing pointless campaigns... such as their latest "stunt" against Zappos. They were outraged that Zappos would sell fur, however where is the outrage that they sell leather? I'm sure they probably sell some wool products as well.. WHY are you not outraged at that as well? What makes fur so much offensive than any other material that is animal based? Why just skip all the bullshit and just promote what you say you're promoting? *sigh*
I've been a vegan for 2.5 years, and all PETA has ever done for me is give vegans a bad rep. I still find it rather humorous when I tell people that I'm vegan, they ask if I support PETA, and I respond with "FUCK PETA AND FUCK INGRID NEWKIRK."
They are one of the most frustrating organizations I know of, and I can rage for days about stupid shit they do... Luckily there are some good organizations that do good in the realm of vegan outreach, and promoting animal rights properly. Kudos to them. Fuck PETA.
