Remember how quickly the plants seemed to grow this month? How they were persistent, difficult to get rid of no matter what anyone seemed to do? It's almost as if the plants are growing minds of their own, with how things are going. Pull out some plants from the cracks, have even more grow back by the next day. Some have even been spewing poisonous

Or more accurately, attempting to deal with the people trying to get away from the plants. At the moment, she was a little busy trying to make sure that a recently crushed building was empty. Normally it’d be an easy task, but with all the worried thoughts constantly coming in from across the city, it was proving to be more difficult than normal.]
How in the hell does that woman expect us to stop this? If she wanted a bloody gardener, she should have asked someone else to come here and deal with these overgrown weeds!

I feel we are more like caretakers than whatever she intended. [He looks to the building that the other is in front of, and frowns.] What exactly are you doing?

[She refrains from adding “What does it look like I’m doing?” Normally, she would, but she’s a little preoccupied telling the citizens which way to go and not to touch the plants.]
Caretakers, indeed. If that’s what they wanted, I know some people she should have brought here instead.

Where may I provide aid?

[After taking a moment to make sure the handful of citizens she was guiding had indeed made it to safety, Emma sends a quick telepathic message to Altair.]
Don’t be alarmed but if things get too noisy or too hectic, I’ll be communicating with you this way. Just trying to warn you in advance, darling.

Great. First that.. deity and now this woman too? He tried not to convey too much frustration into his thoughts.]
Have you any relation to the woman who brought us here?

[So far, so good. There were moving along just fine without the need for her to telepathically prod them away from the plants.
That left plenty of time to send the image of her looking disgusted towards Altair.]
Absolutely not. If I did, I certainly wouldn’t be out here herding people like sheep and subjecting my expensive designer uniform to these wretched plants.

The image sent doesn't strike up any points with him, Emma. He scowls, at that, and it can be heard in his thoughts.]
I will take your word for it. Once we are done here, perhaps we should search for the source of this.

[And, finally things seem to be clear on her end. Hopefully, she could move on to doing something else now. Like stopping this horrid plant invasion.]
I haven’t heard of anything that could be the cause. No lab accidents, strange meteors, certainly not the manifestation of mutant powers. How about you? Do you have anything to contribute besides scowling at me from all the way over there?

Why not follow the plants? Surely they must originate from somewhere, right?

[She has her doubts. Somehow Icarus tends to make less sense than her world, so maybe they’re not coming from anywhere. Still, it’s worth looking into, so she won’t argue against it.]
Well, you certainly have your pick of plants. Which ones did you want to follow?

Do you see?

[It’s not a command, but there’s a sense of urgency in her tone.
Luckily for her, she can retrace his exact path from his thoughts. It’s still difficult due to the rubble and the occasional vine trying to snag her leg or trip her, but it’s much easier than blindly trying to find a matching location in the direction he went in.]
Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’re human, right? No powers or anything like that? No immunity to poison?

[His reply is quick, but he is standing still for her. His eyes are open, scanning the area just in case there's something he's missed. A pause and he takes in a breath, sends another thought to her.]
And you? Asides from... this?

[And there’s Altair up ahead, so she’ll break off the psi link for now.]
Unfortunately, it keeps me from using my psychic abilities, so I hope you won’t miss having my voice in your head.
