[The feed turns on and there's a small cough; the device turns and its this one's face, but he's looking a little more disturbed than usual. In the back, there's a figure against the wall, limp, pale and not breathing. Walking away from it, there's a grimace.]

Uh, hey. [He thinks on it for a moment, turns the corner and moves to sit against the ( Read more... )

I have absolutely no idea. And, this is only a guess, but I'll assume the unpleasant most likely dead person on the wall back there doesn't know either.

[He frowns at that, doesn't wanna look back, so instead his eyes turn down.]

I... Yeah. She dropped dead in front of me all of a sudden..

[She looks like she might apologize for being crude, but it doesn't happen. Still, she does look and sound genuinely concerned for once.]

Was it the disease?

[He starts to shrug, but then it starts to turn into a nod. He's gonna start walking, just to get away from the scene.]

... Probably.

How terrible.

[She's still a little insincere. It's not like the disease is a threat to her, or so she thinks. Still, Emma's a little worried about it.]

I wonder if anyone's tried to develop a cure for it. Maybe whatever being is in charge here should try doing that instead of warping reality every other month.

Y-Yeah, right? [His brows furrow at that - he doesn't even think that's how it works, but...]

Can you pick up anything? I mean.. the thoughts of anyone else. Anything about a cure?

I'm picking up all sorts of things, but...

[Checks again to make sure.]

Absolutely nothing about a cure. If someone's working on one, they're keeping it well hidden to say the least.

Maybe its one of the more rich citizens? Could be that they don't want to get anyone's hopes up or anything...

I doubt it. Even if they didn't want to tell the public, they'd still be thinking about it, dear.

Geeze... We're really going in circles here, huh? You wouldn't happen to know how to make a cure, would you?

Unfortunately for all of you, I don't.

[The medical profession is one field she doesn't have much experience with.]

I know several scientists and healers who could, given enough time of course, possibly create a cure. However, none of them are here.

Great. [He lets out a sigh, starts walking again.]

How are we supposed to help or get anywhere here...

Good question.

[Emma frowns.]

I hate to admit it, but even I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing here either. I've been doing my best to keep people from acting like complete and utter lunatics, but even I can't be everywhere at once. And of course, doing so does absolutely nothing about this wretched illness going around.

Why can't... The people can leave, can't they? Its like they want to stay, you know?

[He frowns at the thought.] Or maybe they don't have anywhere to go...

Maybe they're not desperate enough to leave, or things are just as bad, if not worse outside the city. It could also just be people being stubborn. After all, if nothing else, human beings are incredibly stubborn creatures.

You're speaking from you experience? I can kind of vouch for the stubborn part..
