So, as of right now we know that Himari, Kanba, and Shoma are not related by blood, which explains Shoma taking the guilt of what happened the hardest. He's the only blood-related Takakura. Furthermore, Sanetoshi is officially our antagonist and Himari is out to stop Kanba because she has absolutely nothing to lose at this point. She just had Shoma force her to leave and Kanba leave the family--both for her sake. She also knows she's going to die soon so.... yeah, nothing to lose.
I must say that this whole thing with the Princess being the one who disappears for episodes at a time instead of Himari is both refreshing, hilarious, and kind of worrying. Did she have nothing to say? Is she losing power? Was the medicine Sanetoshi was giving Himari keeping her at bay?
Despite all this plotty stuff going on, the thing that gets me most is the general insistence that the Takakura siblings are a "fake" family. Himari and Kanba are adopted, this does not make them fake. To be fair, their parents are--were--the leaders of a cult. Kanba, as the series progresses, seems to have gotten more and more brainwashed or something along those lines. I do not blame Natsume for being obsessed and feeling like her brother is stolen from her.
What gets me is: if the siblings consider one another siblings, why does it matter so much if they're not related by blood? This might be a cultural thing I should look into speaking, but I just don't understand this notion. Blood doesn't make people family. If it did then the person you marry isn't becoming family. They are and always will be a "stranger." These are three kids who went through a lot together from a very young age. Why the insistence they don't know and have no right to care for each other?
Thoughts and views on this, guys?
