It was Monday. The day everybody loathes because they have to start the week all over again and deal with mundane shit. But for Sora, it was pretty much the opposite.
All because he got to see her. It wasn't everyday that Sora got to visit the beautiful mermaid with the fiery, red hair and the attitude to match. But today was special because he was going to get his first kiss.
Ariel had been dropping subtle hints about today and the last time she saw him (which was the Monday before), she lingered dangerously near his lips before swimming away, afraid that her father would see.
Yes, Sora was in a good mood today. The ocean glittered like diamonds, the breeze was fine and his toe hadn't gotten pinched by a crab. Ah, life was good! The boy waited eagerly on the shore for the girl that made him swoon and just stood there.
For hours.
Sora's good mood was disappearing. Fast. The brunette sat down on the beach and waited for another hour, the anger and hurt settling in. "Ariel," He breathed and the wind took it and perhaps sent it to the mermaid held in her room.
The Heartless had captured her and killed her father. It was too late for anybody to save her from her execution.
A lone tear dripped down her face as she was lead to Ursella, kicking and screaming for Sora to rescue her.
And right before they slaughtered her, Ariel murmured, "I'm sorry.."
Sora never got his first kiss from Ariel.
