As I get more and more used to having Lyme Disease (and possibly as I get physically lazier), I find that I'm doing less and less strenuous physical exercise. In fact, becuase of my longer recovery time and increased sensitivity, most of the time I just do the "Energization Exercises" that are a part of the Self-Realization Fellowship lessons. Now, having said that, I am physically active on a daily basis: walking, doing pranayama or breathing exercises, and the Energization Exercises. However, it's a significantly different type of physical exercise and level of activity that I was doing a yaer ago, or even three months ago. I used to be very physical: running, lifting weights, doing Ashtanga Yoga, or intense Hatha classes. I think I might be past that now, or in a different phase of physical fitness.
Health is much more important to me than being physically impressive. Health and energy, and being able to breathe and move and feel good. And the Energization Exercises do that for me, interestingly enough. It's a simple enough premise: static, isometric contractions for the most part. But it works; they boost my energy and I feel good. The pranayama, too, with retention of breath is simple but effective, and that's perfect for me now.
Anyway, back to work. Crazy lady's going to kill herself.
