Just to get the whining out of the way, here are the bad things about being at home:
Not having anywhere to sleep. In all honestly that's probably the only really bad thing about being here, but it's pretty damn bad. Last night I slept on two mattresses that were put in my old room (which is now an actual "breakfast nook"), and it was cold as fuck because there were hardly any blankets and no way to keep the cold air away. :-\ Plus the windows let in mad amounts of sunlight and I can hear everything from all over the house. Around 8:30 this morning I just switched to my parents HUGE bed and slept there until about noon. That worked out much better.
Now the good things about being at home:
Good food!! Already I've had quality Chinese, a slice of Zachary's pizza, a milkshake, and a burrito from Gordo's. Tonight I think we're having t-bone steaks (!!), and tomorrow will be filled with ham and Au Coquelet chocolate tort. Pretty damn sweet.
Another good thing is getting to see my high school friends. We really did get scattered to the four winds after graduation. Still, I managed to see Caitlin real quick before she had to leave for the Russian River for T-day with her grandparents. I don't understand her family at all - she just had surgery on her foot and now they're taking her off on a trip until late Friday night!!! I was lucky to be able to see her at all. After that I met up with Kat for Gordo's (mmm), and later Caethan came by my house to play tennis (he won, 6 games to 3, but whatev).
Tomorrow will probably be a day for family, but hopefully on Friday I'll get to see both Madison and Tom. Then it's back to Washington, DC for less than a month (!!!) of school. I can hardly believe that the semester is already close to being over. Totally blows my mind. Too much has changed between August and now, but isn't that always how it goes? Still....
Things to do, people to see while in Oakland:
01. Pho
02. Madison
03. Tom
04. Sean
05. Faire un peu du shopping
And yet right now I don't know what to do with myself. I HAVE to get my drivers' license over winter break. This is getting to be totally ridiculous.
