After 2+ weeks of midterm stress and all-around hellishness, I have resurfaced into the world of normalacy and am ready to get back to my life. It may not be the most exciting of lives, but it'll definitely be way better than alternately freaking out about the amount of work I have to get through and cursing my poor time management skills. Go me. In the end, though, I think I pulled through with at least my dignity intact. We shall see.
Got my hair cut today. People who know me well will be able to imagine what it looks like - shortish, layered, etc. For those of you who don't know me all that well...eh. Either you'll see me around campus or I'll post a picture at some point. I love having freshly cut hair, though. It's so light, and so *clean* (best part of haircuts? professional hair washing!), and so neat. The woman at Hair City didn't do *exactly* what I like, but she got it close enough. The discrepency is more my fault than anything else since I didn't even try to find a picture of what I wanted.
Last night was surprisingly nice, in a low key kind of way. Michelle and I went to Superfresh, where I spent $70 on groceries (!!), and then after I got back Dave came over and we ate pasta together and chit chatted, which is always fun when Dave is involved. He's so smart, and such a book nerd, but then on the other hand he's this hip-hop loving skater boy from Delaware. Go figure. I didn't appreciate his telling me to look up pictures of the bubonic plague, though. I did, and they really freaked me out. :-\
Also went to go see "Into the Woods," since Mike was able to hook me up with a ticket - a free ticket, at that! The show was really, really, really long. The first act alone was an hour and a half, but it was a fun, enjoyable hour and a half. The second act, though, dragged like whoa. It was more than a little preachy and the story just took such a dark and unhappy turn.... Plus by then I was tired. Still, it was fun. I'm a geek who actually enjoys theatre and musical theatre from time to time, and it'd been a while. And I got to see Mike dressed up in a silly wig.
Was going to be at the regatta today in Philly, but now I am not. Basically, I (yes, somewhat selfishly) decided that spending 19 hours at a regatta that I wasn't even going to be rowing in was not how I wanted to spend my first potentially leisurly Saturday in two to three weeks. Plus I've gotten a lot done already, which is awesome: my hair is now cut, I have some books to look over for my research paper, and next up I think I'm going to do some French homework. I need to start busting my ass for that class, but I think I can do it.
Victoria is napping and I'm going to go be productive. I plan on spending a couple of quality, guilt-free hours in the NARC tonight and it's going to be awesome.
