All right, so that job interview I had scheduled for today? Nailed it, and the woman I spoke to called me within half an hour to let me know that I was hired. They're paying me $9 an hour and I get to do (what sounds like) interesting things. Say it with me now: sweeeeeet! It was all pretty exciting, since this means that I get to start working right away and *this* means that I don't have to worry so much about paying for things like, oh, you know, books. Not having to worry about money this semester will be nice. Very nice indeed.
Crap. I almost spilled my tea. Almost. I'm going to try to go all year - or at least all semester - without fucking up my room by spilling something or knocking something over. We'll see how that goes. For those of you not in the know, I'm a bit of a klutz. :-\
There's a boy on my floor, one of the freshmen, who I always catch looking at me. It's starting to weird me out just a little bit. As much as I love being around new people, I really can't wait until everyone from last year shows up and I start being able to have a normal social life again. I feel a little out of the freshmen loop just because everything they're going through right now, I've already experienced and moved on from. Oh well. At least we all seem to get along well enough. I just feel sometimes that I'm not "cool enough" because I don't know all the hot parties, etc. etc. etc. Sorry guys, that's just not how I am. As evidenced by the fact that I've been in bed by midnight just about every night since I got here. Yeesh.
But hey. What am I acting apologetic for? It's been working.
Tomorrow will be a good day. Tacola is getting here around 10am, and I've already been enlisted to help her unpack. Unfortunately, most of the freshmen boys will be off doing FSE so I won't be able to pimp them out as manual laborors, like I did when Michelle got here today. I can handle the work on my own though. I swear. And after Tacola gets here, Dan will be getting here, and unless something goes horribly wrong, that's going to be great. Plus my roommate's not even here yet. SCORE.
"marshmallow" in French is guimauve. For some reason the people in the lounge were talking about how they were going to make a cafe on the Terrace. As if.
I'm getting ornery and sleepy. Bed time for me.
