Notes on security detail 17, May, 1998:
Supply of killer-kappas entirely depleted by SODZILLA thing. Quite a loss, but am looking into how the Sodzilla might be incorporated into existing castle security. Have conducted much research, only to discover that Japan's department of Magical Creatures lists the Sodzilla as a class XXXXX creature--very dangerous, owing not necessarily to its temperament as much as to its sheer size, as well as the radioactive flames that it can shoot from its mouth at a tremendous distance. Accordingly, Sodzillas can be extraordinarily dangerous when provoked (MUCH LIKE MYSELF). As recently as 1989, one rampaged across the coast of western America and destroyed the Golden Gate bridge. Was quite a mess for the American Ministry to deal with. Nowadays most muggles remember the rampage as a particularly volatile earthquake.
NOTE TO STUDENTS: I suggest staying clear of the lake and not provoking the Sodzilla.
Am attempting to communicate with the Sodzilla, as all research indicates they are sentient, intelligent creatures. The Sodzilla's swimming-sessions with the merpeople (it appears to have befriended the local school) suggests it can form bonds with other species if it chooses to. Have yet to see the entire Sodzilla with my real eye, but the presence of its humper-thingers sticking up above the waves at sunset makes its course around the lake easy enough to track. My Japanese needs work, arigato.
