Time before IVF...
I've been watching this fasinating series on PBS called Test Tube Babies. And it's equally uplifting and depressing. They've talked about how IVF was originally feared, how some lab techs would purposely destroy fertilized embryos. It's heartbreaking to think that a couple would go through the whole process of ovary stimulation and harvesting eggs, only to have their hopes dashed.
It makes me so grateful that Russ and I were able to have supportive medical professionals and legal rights that helped us deal with our infertility. We're so blessed to have a beautiful healthy baby girl in our lives directly as a result of an amazing doctor and the technology to make our pregnancy possible.
