cleaning, cleaning, cleaning... and some other stuff...
So we're finally moving down the hall to the bigger apartment. When we moved here about a month ago, it was with hope that we would get the apartment down the hall, once the current tenants moved out. Well, they're gone now, and we're cleaning up the mess they made. One of the conditions of getting to move in the middle of the lease was that we would be responsible for doing all the cleaning. So in the last 2 days, we've been giving it a major overhaul. We went and bought paint to make it look nice and clean. The walls and trim were a dingy flat white, so we're painting the walls a nice beige-y color in a satin finish, and the trim is going to be a nice high gloss white. There was an unfinished brick wall in the living room and our bedroom, it was an icky black, brown and grey color, and in general just looked dirty. I bought a nice brick red, and am faux finishing it to look like red brick with white mortar. All the floors in the place are wood, except for the kitchen and bath which are a nice neutral tile. I'm really pleased with the possiblities in general. My hope is to have everything done by Monday so we can go ahead and move furniture in. I plan on having before and after pictures posted once everything is compleated, so keep posted.
