in my composition class we have to write out detailed answers to these twenty questions. so i'm posting my answers here because they say a lot about me~~ also because it's basically a survey. oh, and i'm making this public so people can get a review of me before friending me.
1. If you could be a star in a television show, what show and which character would you choose, and why?
i'd probably choose brennan from the tv show Bones because i love the way she thinks. she's analytical, doesn't let emotions control her, and is a genius. on some level, that's the complete opposite of what i am. she thinks with her mind while i think with my heart.
2. If you could be any age right now, how old would you be and why?
my first instinct was to say that i'd want to be 18. that would essentially allow me to do what i wanted. i could get the tattoos, piercings, and job i wanted no questions asked. but after thinking about it, i know i'm not ready to grow up. being 16 right now is my best option because it's the perfect balance between child and adult for me.
3. You may have dinner with any famous person in the world, dead or alive. Whom would you choose to dine with and why?
i'd choose andy warhol, no questions asked. i idolize him. it's not necessarily his art that i love, but its the way he produced said art and led his life that i adore. his words changed my life, they continue to change my life. i'd love to just be able to hear him talk.
4. If you were a famous musician, what kind would you be: rock, country, jazz, classical, or other? What instrument would you play?
i'd love to be a famous pianist. just listening to piano changes my mood, my whole day, my life. so, i'd like to think that maybe i could put my passion into returning the favour.
5. What do you hope to be doing ten years from now?
the exact same thing i'm doing now. i want to be making further progress in my art, i want that to be noticed. i want to be with the people i love and surrounded by inspiration in a new city.
6. Tomorrow, your fairy godparents will grant you three wishes; what will they be?
i would probably wish for a Canon EOS 5D Mark II kit. i wish my closet was forever 21 or the local goodwill. and i wish the idea of money was totally abolished.
7. What is the subject or "thing" you would most like to learn more about?
i want to learn more about quantum physics. i like physics enough as it is, but quantum physics fascinates me because it's all about limitations and where these physical limitations begin to unfold and and bend and change. to me, that's beautiful.
8. What do you consider to be the world's most serious problem now?
i'd say money, because just about any world wide problem has roots in someone's economy or a price tag on something. it's fucking absurd and without money a fair majority of these problems would shrink away.
9. What is the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?
though i have never truly seen it (only in pictures)
Supernova 1987a is the most beautiful thing i've seen. the way the star burst has formed two rings that seem to sit right next to each other, and it looks like the infinity sign. a close second would be the gas pillars in the eagle nebula. they look like god's fingers. i refer to them as
god's pillars. if you can't tell, i love space.
10. What is the title of your favourite book?
i'm going to go with my usual and say that my favourite book is titled Teach Me. i've loved that book for so long, but i think Choke or The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (From A to B and Back Again) run in close seconds.
11. If you could instantly and painlessly change just one thing about yourself, what would it be?
i don't want to change anything about myself. though i have many struggles and issues i always say i wish i would be rid of, i realize in my moments of clarity that i wouldn't be ... right, if i didn't have them.
12. What emotion is strongest in you?
i typically find that anger and disappointment are the emotions i experience most often and with the most force. maybe i should have that looked into. maybe that's just me.
13. Who or what do you love the most?
anonymity. i know it's such a weird concept to love it. but i love images where there are no people. i love images more that have a person as a subject- but that person could be anybody. if not anonymity, the thing i love most is visual communication, the process of getting a point across without words. through photos, paintings, other mediums. all art that communicates without identity.
14. If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be and why?
i wouldn't want to be anyone else. i don't want to perceive things any differently than i already do because the way i see things is what gives me my identity. if i understood, and i mean fully understood and completely agreed with, the way other people see the world i wouldn't be me. everyone perceives the world differently, because everything is subjective and it should stay that way.
15. Where in the world would you most like to live?
i have always been naturally drawn to seattle, though i've never visited it. i adore toronto and surrounding areas in ontario and i have been considering moving there after school. however, the place my heart is set on is dyckesville, wisconsin. it has strong ties to my upbringing and it's one of the most beautiful places in the world.
16. What event in the past do you remember most vividly?
my memory, especially of things from my childhood, has always been a finicky thing. but looking back, i think i remember one of my first panic attacks clearly. i was lasertagging with my friends, and i had never done it before. i remember the walls closing in, and i remember not being able to breathe. i was nauseous and my heart was racing, and it was something i had never experienced before- i was terrified. i was probably 8 or 9, at the most.
17. What are you doing when you feel happiest? And when was the last time you did this?
i am most comfortable and happiest when i'm photographing my best friend's band. when the music is loud, surrounding me, and the intensity transfers from sound to energy in each person in the room, and i'm capturing this all for all time- that's when i'm home. the people around me know what i'm doing, the respect what i do, and the appreciate what i do. it's been awhile since i've had the chance to do this, but according to my site, the last show i photographed was the day before halloween. i need to get back into doing this. thank god i have a show coming up this weekend.
18. What one thing makes you angrier than anything else?
being the typical teenage girl that i am, my first instinct was to say 'rejection'. however, rejection i can handle. the one thing i know i can't handle is when people have no respect for the things i believe or when someone challenges my beliefs but doesn't know what they're talking about. if you don't know what you're saying, then say nothing. it's easier that way.
19. If you could be the best in the world at something, what would it be?
i almost said photography, but what's the fun in photographing if you know every picture will be amazing and there's no guess work, there's no second guessing, and there's no learning process? so i guess i'd have to say that i'd love to be the best writer in the world. writing is my second passion, next to art. prose to poetry, i respect words and language.
20. Choose one word that describes you.
"passionate."
