Yo,
Despite fighting my weight, by eating like a rabbit, and doing tons of running, rucking, and sessions at the gym (the number of pushups i can do in 2 minutes doubled) I have once again weighed in over the limit the army sets. This means that I most likely will be discharged within the next 3 to 4 months. More than likely we'll be in Kuwait for another month, and return in the first week of November. After that, it will probably take 2 to 3 months before I am discharged (either Honorably or most likely a "general under honorable conditions") This will put me at a minor disadvantage in finding an equivalent job in the civilian sector, but is not the end of the world. (Guys who didn't even finish training in AIT landed 50k/year jobs, without work experience and with a worse discharge; dishonorable) However, when I get back, here are my obstacles.
Getting a car (just something in the $1,500-$2,500 range to get me by until i'm set up and can buy a new car.
Finding a place, (i'll have the money before I leave here to pay first/last months rent or a deposit, and then some. The true challenge will be timing my start date at a new job, and finding a place. I'm kind of thinking about AZ, as i'm already there, and its got a couple major cities where someone with my skills and backround can find work. Going back to the midwest isn't an option, because I'll likely never find a need for me. I'm not limiting myself to AZ, but its looking like an easy(easier) option for starting over as a civilian.
Thats whats stirring in the weeds.
