Oh yay, a TTB community! Thanks, shibaiko for making this for us! ^_^
Um, lets see.. introduction. I'm Ellen, I'm 17, and I've been a huge fan of Rent and TTB for a few years now. I love both of these musicals because of the way they're written and the music.. They're about life, and I think that because of that everybody can relate to them at least a little bit. I know I sure as hell can. I'm going into college next year and my major will probably be in the theatre or music department, but no one in my family supports this decision so I'm constantly getting put down for it and trying to get talked out of it. So I find so much support and encouragment in Rent and especially TTB because, basically, it's about making it as an actor and trying to decide whether or not to follow your dreams or to listen to everyone else and give up. So every time I get another "you'll never make it" lecture from my parents I just put on my TTB soundtrack and read the Rent book and think about how Jonathan Larson made it against all odds. It's a great inspiration.
Anyway, sorry for such a long intro.. I just feel very passionate about this musical so I always have so much to say about it. :)
