The aftermath

I can't type very well so this won't long. My right hand is in a giant cast and completely useless until December. Can't write, type, push-ups, or even drive a manual transmission (yes, my car is manual). In fact, I can't drive at all because I'm on Vicodine. I don't feel any effects of the drug except a little sleepy, even after I take two Vikes. Speaking of, none of their drugs worked very well on me. I was given two shots under my collar bone to numb my arm and two more shots in my pit bc I was still able to move my hands after 3 shots. It was crazy. They had 4 docs trying to figure out why my arm was numb but I could still control my hand somewhat. They also gave me stuff so I would get dizzy, but that didn't work either. I guess I'm just a resilient little kracker.

I set a new personal record. 16 1/2 hrs without food or drink. I was awake for the surgery by choice, but I couldn't see them working on it so I was a little disappointed. Before surgery, I was in a bed next to a kid, no more than 14, who broke his wrist skateboarding. I just started talking to him about that and asked him if it was his first surgery, it was, so we chatted a bit until he passed out from a drug.

I'm jumping all over the place with my thoughts but I don't want to take the time to make it neat. I'ts already taken me 20 minutes to get this much down.I've got a big paper due on Tues and was going to type it out this weekend. That's not happening. Hopefully he will settle for an outline and a final typed paper after Dec 1 when I get this blob off my hand.

I might not talk on AIM much because typing with only a left hand is annoying and depressing. I am going to work around this temporary disability and not be slowed down too much. I'm done now. I want to conclude with a happy/funny though. In order to wash my left arm in the shower, I have to lather my thigh and rub my arm on it. Lather the knee to get the pit. It's goofy.

Oh yeah, I have a screw and a pin in my finger. The pin comes out after 6 weeks.
