I wandered in the direction of 50scenes a while ago, but it wasn't until I was shoved unmercifully towards Rurouni Kenshin fandom by a friend that I decided to take up the challenge

I stalked over to your LJ from 100_fairytales and saw this entry where is looks like you're going to delve into the RK world. From the little I've read of you work, I expect great things...you're writing style is wonderful.
I'm guessing from what you've posted, you haven't got much experience in this fandom, but it lends itself really well to AU, especially the supernatural, fantasy kind. I think that it helps that there isn't already a magical element in the original story line. People love to make Kenshin a demon, vampire, and other similar creatures.
One of the best AU writers of RK is Ravyn; she's on FF.net. I would definitely recommend reading her works if you haven't already, if only for the entertainment value. XD.
Wow, thank you very much for your kind words and advice! :D I've been teetering on the brink of writing an RK fic for quite a while - but now I have a little more time, hopefully I'll find the impetus to get going! AU is very much my ball park, and I can't really see myself heading anywhere else. ^.~
Oh, Ravyn! Seriously, I bow in awe to her writing. <3 She was what got me interested in writing for RK in the first place - such a wonderful imagination in making all those different worlds! (:
I hope you don't mind if I add you as a friend? I know its a little random, but I don't really have anyone on my flist who is into both Inuyasha and RK (that I know of, anyway!) so it'd be nice to have someone to chat to about it. Plus you seem like a cool kind of person. ^^
I LOVE new friends and would be happy to be yours as well as long as you don't mind having a middle-aged mom as your friend . I should warn you most of my posts here are family-related.
I am fairly new to the world of writing fanfiction, but I've been a reader for a while. Finally works up the guts to post my first story last January. I've got two RK fics currently in progress; not brave enough to tackle IY yet ;), so I just sit back and absorb what other people come up with.
BTW, are prompt sets evil? I'm beginning to think they are. This list from 50scenes is inspiring new ideas!!! I can't handle it! Two stories is all I can deal with right now! We'll just file this prompt list in the queue of things I don't have time to do.
One of my best friends on LJ is a middle-aged mom, so there are absolutely no objections there! ^^ As long as you don't mind having a rather random seventeen year old who writes too much for her own good? xDD
It's always interesting stepping from being a reader to being a writer, but I think I may be pottering over to your RK fics shortly, if only to entice you in the black hole that is Inuyasha! ;D And also because it is too damned hard to find good RK fanfic these days. :)
BWAH. Yes, I think they are. Really. I must have at least six (maybe seven?) on the go at the moment. I'm such a sucker for starting stories, losing the plot and ending up stuck until inspiration hits. *fails* That is NOT the way to do it! But if you ever need some recs for prompt tables of any sort, I'm your girl!
ROTF not at all. I seem to be collecting random teenagers...why is that??? :D
If you read my fics, I hope you like them. People seem to, which makes me very happy, but I'm very critical of my own work so I don't know that I would call them good. Seriously, not trying to be modest here. I'm a perfectionist and nothing is ever good enough. It's amazing I had the guts to put something out there for public viewing! I'd love to know what you think of them and constructive criticism is always welcome.
You know that a collection of random teenagers is made of awesome really. All the cool kids (and middle-aged moms too!) have them!
I DO LIKE YOUR FIC. A LOT. AND WOULD LIKE TO READ MUCH MUCH MORE IN THE NEAR FUTURE, PLZ. <3 And I'm not just saying that, as I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it. I think that'll be something you learn about me very, very quickly. xD Really, good fantasy fanfic is so very hard to come by, and yours is up there. I didn't have chance to leave a review/offer concrit etc. but I will definitely be doing so in the near future!
(Also - I'm so sorry it took me so long to reply to your friend request! *headdesk* I could've sworn that I'd friended back, but then my profile said otherwise and I freaked out. xD Sorry!)
Ah, it's always good to have a bit of humour to brighten up the flist, yes? ^^ I'll do my best to be vaguely entertaining - I do work for my board, see? xD
I also think you may have passed on an addiction to strikethroughs. They're AWESOME!
I did, I did, I did! :D And reading it reminded me to go and shove myself into working on that RK fic, so it's all good for readers and writers! ^^

I will endeavour to be a compliant victim of any further evil plans if it means I get to use strikethrough... :D
