[Jeeves & Wooster] Ficlet: Third Person

Aug 18, 2009 21:12

I asked for challenges. janeturenne said kink. I decided on voyeurism. This is probably not what she had in mind, and honestly not what I'd envisioned either, but this is how it went. Don't blame Jane! Blame Emo Gussie! Not that he's got a damn thing to do with anything ( Read more... )

*wibble* This is excellent. The level of explicitness was JUST right; I love writing that hints rather than laying everything out in black and white. Jeeves' behavior was absolutely perfext from beginning to end, and the bit with the money, at the end, broke my heart! Oh, how this makes me ache for an everything-comes-round-right-in-the-end-style sequel, but I know that everything-comes-round-right-in-the-end is one of the very things you were hoping to avoid, so I won't ask for one. Pretty pretty pretty please? Nope, not asking, what noise? OMGJeevesquickgokickBingo'smarriedassoutoftherewhatareyouwaitingfor?

Thank you, ma'am! And thank you for dropping this path to surprising goodness in my lap. :)
The money bit, of course, was supposed to hurt. And I knooooooow, I want it to be okay too! Actually, I can see your second challenge as a quite viable continuation, now that I think of it. But I know better than to make promises, so we shall have to see.

Oh it hurts so good. Bertie, upset that Bingo is married, Jeeves, upset that he can't have Bertie...

And what an excellent reason to get rid of a suit.

Challenges are good for you, babe.

Aye, upsets all round. And yeah, you know that suit's going straight in the incinerator. Challenges ARE good for me. "Needs direction, but performs well under pressure," c'est moi. Thankies! <3

How very sad for Jeeves to receive (some large sum of) soulless money instead of what could only be supplied by his imagination (and not get much of the show, anyway). And Bingo's again a cheating cad. Why does Bertie need consoling?

I know, I did mean things to poor Jeeves. Bingo cheating 'again?' Did I miss something? Or possibly I did that thing where I unintentionally referenced something I've forgotten about. Bertie needs consoling, depending on interpretation, either because Bingo's married and he misses him, because he thinks Jeeves doesn't love him, or because of some third thing you make up yourself. :P

Thanks!

I was referring to eccentricca's ongoing 'The Crime', where I was recently disappointed with Bingo's extra-marital activities first.
And I choose No.2nd, naturally. With a bit of school-time nostalgia on the side.

Ahhhhh, all becomes clear. I haven't been reading that, actually, since I don't generally do WIPs unless I'm pretty sure the author's going to finish. If you interpret this as Bertie being sad because Bingo's married, it's like a goodbye thing. I wanted that to be sort of twofold in there anyway. But option 2, of course, is always good. :)
