I was telling J yesterday that I will always read what you write because even if I look at either the pairing or the summary and think, 'Hmm, I'd probably not read this normally', your writing always pulls me right in. <3
The whole 'Sam is dead and stays dead' would normally be enough to make me run away because nooOOOoooooO!!! But you were right when you said that he was a presence in this story, and his death didn't feel glossed over at all and I liked that a lot.
It was a really good read and you kinda are the master of the slow buildup! But for some reason I especially enjoyed Lisa's reaction to Cas, all of the whispered 'can he peel potatoes and does he eat dinner', and that dude who compared him to Columbo, cause I think that regular people WOULD be really baffled by him and probably assume he had some kind of disorder. And even decent well-meaning people will often act like douches when presented with someone that doesn't quite fit the mold of 'normal', and I think that would really piss Dean off. That guy's saved a lot of people, Larsen," she snaps was kinda perfect. I wish that the show had moments like this, moments of people really not getting Cas and the boys getting angry on his behalf. /ramble
Also this fem!Dean is the best fem!Dean and I think the show should hire you as a consultant for their writing of Cas. You should see about making that happen stat kthxbye.
AND I LOVE YOU FOR READING THINGS I WRITE. <3 Even though they are not necessarily your cup of tea. I was thinking Sam being all non-alive and stuff would put you off this but I'm so glad it didn't. <3
Slow builds are like... almost the whole reason I want to write things. XD I suck ass at Actual Plot but Plot of Feelings I can totally do, and it entertains the shit out of me to be like "how is this way #349343.2 that they can get together."
AND YES the potatoes thing and how you think about the potatoes thing is PRECISELY what I wanted to get across with the potatoes thing, like random normal people don't GET Cas but Deanna/Dean does. <3
