Pot Potty Potts update.
Hey, my favorite contestant Paul Potts who
I posted about a couple of days back is
through to the final of that show. Well worth watching, and boy have they spiffed him up. He sang Time To Say Goodbye, for which my favorite version is the duet with
Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli. Paul did very well once again.
In an interview before the semis Paul said, "All my life I've felt insignificant, but after that first audition I realised that I am somebody. I am Paul Potts."
Afterwards, one of the Judges Piers Morgan said, "Very, very, very few things leave me speechless. You're one of them Paul, I can tell you. When I signed up to do this show, I remember talking to Simon and we both shared this vision of finding someone that was doing an ordinary job, very unassuming, quietly had an amazing talent, and we could provide them with a platform to just show the world what they could do, and you're that guy."
I think Paul is going to be up against
Tony Laf, though Tony's semi-final is yet to come. Tony reached the semis by singing his own beautiful song, "I'm Good" about coping with the death of his brother and adopting his three kids.
I still can't believe I give a shit, because I do most often despise these shows, but I do love a real fairytale once in a while.
Edit: Thanks to
dragonet2 for pointing out that
NPR interviewed Paul Potts. He seems a sweet bloke.
