I can't believe it, but in my extreme sleepiness last night I completely forgot to sing the praises of all our wonderful friends who helped us move stuff (including our crazy heavy couch and television) yesterday: Anne-Margaret's husband Derrick, Laura & Jomar,
sassymngal &
heliodromos, and Allen's friend Eric. (Some of you may know Eric as Bucky in We Gotta Bingo, the show that Allen stage manages. Allen said we could have used him as an advertising gimmick: "Come help us move! Meet Bucky Fuller from the local hit show, We Gotta Bingo!")
All of them were wonderfully willing to help and so patient with our disorganization and general unpreparedness, and
sassymngal even deftly staved off the nervous breakdown which I was on the verge of having. We couldn't have done the move without them, so big huge thanks to them (especially the two who will actually read this *grin*).
And we're almost done! Today was nearly as huge as yesterday--especially for me, since Allen had to go do the show and I single-handedly finished packing up the basement and moving it all upstairs, then moved most of it over to the new house. I do not know how we had that much stuff in that dinky little house. It must have looked like a clown car to any neighbors that were watching us carry stuff out. It was almost embarrassing to have our friends see how much extraneous junk we carry along with us, and both Allen and I would really prefer to have an open, uncluttered house--so we will be having some kinda massive garage sale very soon.
You know, to make room for the new stuff we need to get.
Anyway. Looking forward to tomorrow's Easter brunch with family, so I can relax and (hopefully) stop thinking about moving boxes and unpacking and cleaning for a little while. And then back to work on Monday! Wheeeee.
(Errgg. Sooooooo...soooooooorrrrre...)
