The Writing Life & Varia

So, I'm back to writing fulltime and having a whale of a time. This is not to say that it's been easy, especially since I have a tendency to freeze up when writing becomes a matter of making a living. Still, it's becoming easier. My first two weeks were tough. I was so concerned with being Mr. Perfect that every keystroke was an agony, but I'm starting to ease up on myself and I hope that, by the end of next week, I'll have stopped second-guessing my every syllable.

In other news, I am now officially an old fart: Yesterday's eye exam revealed that I need progressive lenses, i.e., I'm as blind as a bad and it all has to do with aging. Oh well, at least my sense of humour has not been affected by this process.

I have also finally purchased a Cylon, a shiny silver and black number with a blinking red eye from Nokia. This handheld marvel allows me to send text and voice messages to loved ones and to clients and so far, has seen very little use. I still hate the buggers and would rather not have one, but I need to stay in touch when I'm working at the library or in a coffee shop (and getting away from the apartment for a couple of hours every day has become a priority, to prevent cabin fever).

I've also been learning more about photography. I've been experimenting with various techniques and have been learning how to use Adobe Lightroom, which is possibly the best photo developing application out there right now.

All in all, it's an exciting time here in Toronto. I hope to soon provide updates about some exciting projects that are in the works.
