Name: Sakura Shinguji
Series/Fandom: Sakura Taisen/Sakura Wars
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual. Sakura Taisen is a pretty big franchise, which includes a series of video games. The games are a dating sim where the main character (a man) can pick any of the girls as his "best girl." However, there are things throughout the franchise (anime, manga, games and musicals) that hint to yuri for all of the girls. It should also be noted that the franchise was inspired by the Takarazuka Revue, which, if you're unfamiliar with (I'll assume you are to be safe), is an all female acting troupe with a mostly female audience. The Takarazuka is sort of known for its lesbian overtones. Basically, I didn't feel right deciding her sexuality as 100% straight or as 100% lesbian. I thought bisexual was safer and probably closer to the games/anime/manga, even if the yuri was all fanservice.
Student or Faculty Member/Professor: Student. Sophomore.

Appearance: Sakura has the classic girl-next-door charm to her looks. She has long black hair, which is often pulled back into a ponytail with a large red ribbon. She’s short, only 5’1”, and a rather thin girl, only weighing 97 pounds. She has large brown eyes and, despite being a country girl, she has rather fair skin.
She prefers to wear more feminine clothing, sticking to skirts and dresses over pants or shorts most of the time. She is usually found wearing pinks and pastel colors, keeping a summery look for her wardrobe. She will, however, branch out and wear other things. It’s just very unlikely to see her in anything but soft and light colors.
Personality: Coming straight from the country life, Sakura is a bit naïve to the ways of the world. At first glance, she appears to be an ordinary and friendly, albeit clumsy, country yokel. In fact, her clumsy nature has been known to get her into quite a few pickles, and she’s had a few issues with bad first impressions because of it. However, she makes up for it with her open and warm personality. Though she may appear to be nothing special, she has a lot of talent and strength hidden away inside of her. Sakura has had her fair share of struggles with her confidence levels; her confidence steadily grows as time wears on.
She has a strong sense of honor, always determined to do what is right and to help those in need. Sakura feels that it is her personal duty to be a protector to those who need it most, working to be a voice to those she believes need to be heard. As a caring soul, she’s often there when you need her. If you’re sick or down and out, Sakura will be there to lend a hand. She can’t help but reach out to people, wanting to brighten their day. She’s always prepared to make a friend or two, and is a rather energetic girl. She can’t stand the sight of suffering or sadness, which is why she always feels like it is her duty to cheer up everyone around her.
She’s very self-motivated in everything she does. She always wants to do her best, hating the idea of disappointing others. It is because of this that she picks up on things fairly quickly, pushing herself to train hard in everything and give the best she can give. Despite the fact she may look like she’s a weakling, she is actually a very strong women, mentally, emotionally and even physically. Her physical strength may not manifest itself in weight lifting contests, but it is clear she can withstand a lot of physical demands.
History: Sakura was born in the rural parts of Sendai, Miyagi, Japan, which explains why she isn’t extremely comfortable with city life. She is the daughter of Officer Kazuma Shinguji, a member of the local Sendai police force, and his wife, Wakana Shinguji. She spent most of her childhood practically glued to her father’s side, as they both adored one another. Her childhood was a relatively happy one when her father was still alive. It is because of him that Sakura has such a strong sense of honor.
Unfortunately, her father met an untimely end. Sakura was still a child when her father passed away; he was murdered by an armed criminal he was trying to take down. Since his death, Sakura has tried to preserve his memory as best she can and be something he would be proud of. He is one of her biggest inspirations when trying to reach her goals.
During her teen years, Sakura headed to Tokyo to attend a performing arts high school. It was there she truly fell in love with the stage, starting to perfect her skills in singing and acting. She still has a ways to go, but she received a lot of her initial training there. It was there she made many friends in the world of theatre. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. Being accepted to Evergrove University meant packing up and leaving Japan after graduation, leaving behind all her old friends.
