Yippee.
Tonight I came in third place at the EssenzaSlam. This is certainly a fluke, but I feel good about it nonetheless. I also received not only my first, but my first two tens ever. This is also a fluke, but a damn welcome one. After the slam I represented the "real new school" at Friday's, which is always a pleasure. Having been described once as "socially retarded" (a statement with which I whole-hearted agree), it is refreshing to go out and engage myself in conversation with people I don't know particularly well. Normally the only people who get any more than monosyllabic dialogue out of me are my close friends and my immediate family.
