I'm beginning to think I'm too evolved spiritually and psychologically for society to handle; my frustration with humanity that consistently chooses apathy and violence over peace and active thought knows no bounds, it seems. In some of my more intelligent conversations, people have mentioned we need to "give humanity a chance," and I'm not sure I WANT to. Time and time again, we destroy those that want to help the human race and let the demons run wild. John Lennon: murdered; Martin L. King: murdered; Jesus: murdered; Bush: still producing offspring. Where do our priorities lie, I wonder...
I seriously wonder how we're going to grow and evolve if we continue to let fevered egos taint our collective unconcious. Actually, let's go to a smaller scale; how are we going to evolve when those that think actively are cast aside and dubbed "insane?" On numerous occasions, I've suggested an interesting idea/philosophy and people respond with "I didn't come here to think." Since when was thinking not an entertaining activity? I find it difficult to connect with a society that consistently chooses malls and reality TV over poetry readings and intelligent discussions.
I can't be the only one, here; am I the only one that gets upset when one of the greatest accomplishments a celebrity can do is push a product nobody needs? For one thing, Britney Spears' music SUCKS, and two, Pepsi isn't the healthiest drink out there. Seems like a famous person is belittled if they DON'T appear on an ad pushing another crappy product. I'm waiting for Cheney to be on an ad for Smith & Wesson in the fairly-near future. "Whenever I need to shoot a man in the face, I need a rifle that aims properly; that's why I choose: SMITH & WESSON." *fake grin*
Now flag-burning is an issue, yet again. OK, I'm going to put this issue to rest mmmmmm...right fuckin now. When the symbol itself means more to you than the ideas and values it represents, you have your priorities in the wrong place. HERE'S an idea that might ruffle a few feathers...why don't we actually honor and defend the philosophies our country was built upon, rather than let a Fascist government destroy everything...and then whines about flag-burning. Am I the only one that sees a major disconnect between their words and actions?
I dunno, maybe it's just me...why not create a nice world for children to come to? OK, it's me...
I'll just let you go back to your fast-food, t-shirt nirvana lifestyle, and I'll be at the other side of the evolutionary bell-curve...
*sound of crickets*
...that's me, waiting for the world to catch-up.
