Tool Concert
All I can say is.....
...WOOOOOOOW!!
Seeing Maynard & Co. live added a whole new dimension to their music. On a few occasions, Maynard even messed around with the lyrics (namely the timing) to throw off those that were singing along. It was GOOD that he did that, because then they shut up for a few minutes, and we could actually HEAR Maynard sing...
They played a pretty balanced set, too. They played: Opiate, Sober, Stinkfist, Aenima, Lateralis, Schism, The Pot, Vicarious, Rosetta Stoned and Jambi (not in that order, though). I wished he could've done Ticks & Leaches, but he RARELY does that song live. Oh well.
The visual effects where just as amazing. They added the music videos when they played Sober and Schism, that was pretty cool; they mostly added fractals, and the eye symbol was used many times. They had a white 10~15 foot wall behind them, and the stage was white, as well; most of the images were both on the wall AND the stage. They added a laser-light show to the last three songs, and THAT was fuckin awesome!
My friend and I went to a Village Inn afterwards...if anything, just to chill-out and talk about the concert. Even though it's the next morning, I'm STILL buzzin! :-D
