[Like everyone else, Koishi wakes up in a strange bed in a strange house. This, of course, immediately alerts her to the fact that something is wrong: she was sleeping outside, just taking a nap on her way home for the first time in a few weeks. She doesn't panic, or freak out, or anything like that. She just continues looking around as she exits

[Satori almost doesn't notice Koishi, but she happens to look up as she hears the door open. She follows her out into the street, and asks in a quiet voice:]

...Koishi...?

[Koishi turns towards the familiar voice, and immediately broke out in a bright smile.]

Hey, sis! What're you doing here?

[wondering_eye]

What are you doing here?

[She immediately feels like an idiot for asking.]

I dunno. I just woke up here a few minutes ago.

... By the way, where is "here"?

[wondering_eye]

[Satori's face darkens for a moment before she answers.]

It's a place called Mayfield. It's...not in Gensokyo.

So we're stuck somewhere in the outside world?

[Pause.]

Well, that doesn't seem so bad!

[wondering_eye]

It's awful. The people taken here lose all their powers and become human, and every month something terrible happens...

It might not seem so bad right now, but I promise it's much worse than it looks.

[At first, Koishi just thinks this is some lame joke Satori thought up. But Satori doesn't joke around. Aaand that's when she notices it.]

H-Hey, my Third Eye is gone! How... [Yeah, Koishi is pretty confused now.]

[wondering_eye]

I don't know how, but that's how it is. Mine was gone when I first got here, too. Those things that happen every month - you can get your powers and possessions back after they're finished.

...How do you feel? Now that your Third Eye is gone, I mean...

[thirdeyeclosed]

I dunno... I don't feel weird! So I guess I'm okay.

[Which isn't completely untrue. She feels normal, but there's a strange feeling, a weird clenching in her chest at the thought of being as vulnerable as a human, without any of her powers... she's sure she felt this emotion before, a long time ago, but she can't put a finger on it.]

[wondering_eye]

...That's good.

[Satori's Third Eye lingers on Koishi, and she frowns. But she doesn't say anything else about it.]

Anyway, it looks like you'll be living in the same house as me. Try not to wander around too much, alright? You'll be punished if you don't return home every three days or so.

Aww, that's not fair! Three days isn't enough to take in all the sights a town has to offer!

... But I guess I could make sure to come back more often. I don't want you to be lonely!

[wondering_eye]

If that's what you're concerned about, you can always pick up where you left off once the three days are up...Mayfield's not really that big, and there's not that many interesting things here anyway.

You don't have to worry about me. Just come back every three days for your own sake.

[Paaause.]

You should come with me! I bet you still stay cooped up inside that house even though it's not like home, and that's not good, y'know.

I'll pass. Like I said, there's nothing interesting here.
