Prettiness

Last Sunday night I visited the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, to see the Chinese Spring Lantern Festival event. It was very pretty :-)

The main exhibit was in the glass houses. Some of the garden outside was lit up too.

Approaching the main palm house.

Inside the palm house.

Another palm house shot.

Onto the temperate greenhouse, which was pitch black with various Chinese specimens highlighted.
It was actually quite tricky negotiating around in the blackness!

I'm not sure what this is. Slightly blurry, as are all the pics as tripods were not permitted
(and wouldn't have been very practical in the dark!)

Through a passage of Chinese lanterns.

Into the pond glass house.

A shot in the last glasshouse - love these tall horsetails!

It was a nice idea to open the gardens at night for a change. The gates are normally locked by dusk. I hope they will consider further evening events!
